People who want to work and earn a living are not welcome to walk into our country.
Putin people are welcome to fly into our country, interfere with our elections, and control Trump.

One of the things Trump does very well is to get the idiots in the media to debate on his terms. Note, for example, how many pundits went out of their way to disprove Trump’s contention that we get billions and billions of dollars from the Saudis. As if, if we actually did receive such funds, it would justify murdering and dismembering an American resident and reporter. Likewise, who cares whether the wall would work or not? Is that who we want to be as America and Americans? And even if we did think the wall was appropriate, Mexico is supposed to pay for it.
It’s still not too late to wise up. But the time is not limitless.
And BTW, I wouldn’t put it past Trump and his supporters to have choreographed this whole confrontation at the border.

Poor Toobin, trying to use reason and such. What he misses is the value of a TRUMP WALL for the family brand. I hear they are already selling time shares along the US-Mexico border.

And threats of permanently closing the legal crossings so where can one cross? How will US citizens get home?

Too bad Trump will use the events to argue the opposite…

And stupid usually outshines logic.

“Build the wall! Build the wall!”

I’m one of very few here who actually have no objection to extending the existing border wall further east. It’s not feasible to extend it along the entire border (as W discovered), but it’s not an inherently bad idea IMO. However, how is that to be paid for?

I’d be OK with steepening the tax-rate curve to increase revenue and cutting military budgets to the point that we move from deficit to surplus, then using a fraction of that surplus for extending California’s border wall further into the desert – maybe 100 miles or so.

You might want to consider the ecological damage it would cause. It would disrupt the migratory patterns of a host of critters, many of them endangered.

Why do you think I haven’t? Here’s an arial view of Imperial County. You’re a little late in joining the rest of us with your environmental concerns:

The other thing media does, idiots or otherwise, is give us endless, daily, hour by hour reporting on trump and his plans, his thoughts, his tweets, and now we’re all worse for it. Doesn’t matter if it’s Toobin who is an otherwise respectable writer and political analyst, media says “Look and listen to trump” and we do.

I don’t watch CNN, watch a couple of talkers on MSNBC, but when they present a trumpp story, first I mute, but often I grab a book and hold it in front of my face so I can’t see the entire TV screen. When the orange tufts of hair are gone, I know it’s safe to look up again. Weird, right. I used to do something similar with dubya. Couldn’t stand the sound of his voice

You are so right. When Trump actually does something, please let us know. But if the fat bastard bloviates about how he might do something, that’s not news.

Trump would be talking about that wall even if he was thrown in jail
