Aaaand here we go again. Argument turns potentially deadly with addition of handgun. I need hardly mention that Tennessee is one of many “shall-issue” states, where all you need to do to get a carry permit is to ask.

When you believe you need a gun to make you safer and/or more powerful, your brain is constantly looking for situations to vindicate that belief and, not finding them (because it’s fucking insane and not grounded in reality), will force ordinary interactions and events into the desired template. Thus, every mildly unpleasant interaction becomes a life or death situation requiring gun brandishing. Kids playing music too loud are “thugs” who need killing. Drunk, possibly concussed, distressed young women banging on your door at night are the undead, battering down your steel door to feast upon your brains. Young men in hoodies are gangbangers in need of stalking and confronting.
This is how it is in Wayne LaPierre’s version of America.

Easiest way to bring about the repeal of concealed carry laws? Form a foundation that pays for the license and gun of any minority who asks for one. If minorities in this country were walking/driving around armed to the teeth, the Good People of Rock Ridge would have the laws repealed instantly.
