Banning abortion isn’t the point. Controlling female sexuality is what these luddites seek to do.
Looking at that face, getting acquainted with a woman is far more problematic than what comes after…
women who are “known” to be pregnant . . . “I think the burden of proof is on the state to prove that she knew."
The defendant knows she had sex and she knows that having sex can lead to being pregnant. Close enough for government work.
Is there video or just audio of these proceedings? This would be beneficial for understanding how stupid these pieces of legislation really are.
And AL just paid ACLU $1.7M for a previous lawsuit that AL lost on trying to limit abortion rights. I wonder how much it will cost the state of AL, and all the other states that will lose, again. Which I would like to know how much by state that the ACLU, NARAL, and PP have gotten from lawsuits these states have lost.
These are truly horrible people.
“If you don’t know, then you’re not known to be pregnant,”
Hope you stick to your words. Many women don’t know they’re pregnant until several months later.
Chambliss stumbled through an explanation
“I’m not trained medically, so I don’t know all the proper
medical terminology and timelines and that sort of thing"
" What I do know … is that if you play with it …
you grow hair in you’re palm " —
“AL GOP Fumble Medical Basics”
Of course they did. These are people who think cumshots are holy and that babies are made by God imbuing coitus with magic. They were put here on Earth to make sure we go extinct.
WOW, these guys are a real piece of work.
You can’t schedule an abortion until you’ve confirmed that you’re pregnant. But once you’ve confirmed that you’re pregnant, then you’re not allowed to get an abortion!
And then, of course, there’s that part where they completely give up on the claim that this is about protecting fertilized eggs.
And then they’ll wonder why no one wants to invest in Alabama. It’s going to turn into a ghost town of a state more than it already is
I’m surprised the bill doesn’t include a presumption that if a woman has sex then she is presumed to be known to be pregnant.
Maybe if she even looks at a man … unless she’s holding an aspirin between her knees.
Indeed.
TLC runs a TV show called “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” about real-life cases where a woman had no idea - until she delivered.
The bill does not address all potential children, but rather women’s bodies.
Yes, we’ve noticed.
“You men don’t know what you don’t know.”
That’s certainly a mouthful haha
Frankly, I think it’s a man or woman’s responsibility to actually take the time to learn about the others’ biology, etc., and I’ve never been a fan of the attitude that men should stay out of the debate completely (because yes, you do want my support and I feel a duty to provide it), but she really hit the nail on the head there when it comes to most of these assholes.
“Y…Y…Y can’t we just outlaw abortions?” Your answer is in the question. That damn “Y” Chromosome that wreaks havoc in the GOP is the real problem. Their need to subjugate and bring women.to heel is truly frightening.
I believe the quote below is from the Handmaid’s Tale…right?
“The egg in the lab doesn’t apply,” Chambliss said. “It’s not in a woman. She’s not pregnant.”
What came first…the rabid anti-choice rhetoric…or the egg?
“That’s some catch, that Catch-22,” he observed.
“It’s the best there is,” Doc Daneeka agreed.” - J. Heller
What such a video would really show is how incoherently stupid these dumb-f*ck rethuglican good ole’ boys are.
But it leaves room open for the morning after pill.
So, at eight months if a woman simply says, I didn’t know. I thought I was just bloated", is a defense?
Not sure this one gets past the first judge.
