Classic AP article to help the GOP. Only print the allegations that support the GOP.
Sounds like the job was just a bad fit. Employers can always nitpick and find something out of place as a justification for firing. But it also sounds like they had a loose culture and for whatever reason it wasnât working and blamed her. Knowing how these play out, this one doesnât bother me much. Although the issue with the length of time at a previous employment and issue with the degree points to playing a little fast and loose with the facts, which isnât a positive.
The injury lawsuit isnât a bad thing in and of itself, but it looks like she was trying to manufacture a âmodeling careerâ when there wasnât much there. Thatâs not a good thing. I donât know if that came from her or whether her lawyer encouraged it, but he did her a disservice. Avenatti says it doesnât have any bearing on this situation, but when you have someone thatâs lying or right on up to the edge of lying-in a previous case it sure isnât a positive.
Like Kavanaugh did on Thursday?
Look, there may be problems with her credibility, but the FBI should interview her. If she can cite others who back her up, then fine. If she canât then so be itâŚ
Totally agree.
All the background news thatâs breaking about Swetnick hurts her credibility. Thereâs just no doubt about it, no matter how much we may want her to be the final nail in Kavanaughâs coffin. Avenatti said something interesting and noteworthy on Joy-Ann Reid the other day: âWe want to find out if her allegations are incredible. Thatâs why she should be interviewed by the FBI.â I suspect that was a slip. Normally heâd say, âHer allegations are credible.â His uncertainty leaked. Either her history came out after he went public, or his due diligence got him the right info and he decided to proceed anyway. Either way, I think the potency of her affidavit has been substantially diminished. Dang!!!
The FBI should speak with this woman to get the facts on sleazy Kavanaugh! After interviewing her then and only then can the FBI determine if sheâs a credible witness.
Letâs be fair (something Republicans canât do). Swetnick has some credibility issues. Her story is the most extreme which appeals to Kavanaughâs opponents but was handled the least ethically. From what we see in this article she has some minor issues at least with stretching the truth for her benefit possibly some serious issues. Without something to corroborate her accounts she should not be believed and isnât helping. If her account is false it strengthens Kavanaughâs position. If we are not discriminating in who we believe as witnesses against him it strengthens his position. Have the FBI interview her and follow up on any leads, sure, but unless they come up with something more she should be dropped from public discussion.
One more âLegal Disputeâ and sheâll qualify for a cabinet level position in Donald John Trumpâs administration.
If history of legal disputes were a game changer or deal breaker, Donald Trump would not be President.
MAybe the Green Party will have an opening for you in 2020, Avenatti.
If the Rs are hitting her so hard on her credibility, there must be something in her story that scares them, or they wouldnât try so hard to keep her down and Avenatti scares the shit out of them.
Count me as not jumping to conclusions.
Hereâs something to remember: being raped f*cks you up. In a long list of ways, some of which are not that hard to recover from, some almost impossible. So if we assume her story is true, the fact that sheâs had a checkered, somewhat difficult life since then should be no surprise.
For some reason, we expect survivors of violent crimes to be all patient and angelic and composed, or else they deserved it.
Lesson to men: Assaulting women with credibility issues is essentially legal.
Unless that person is Brett Kavanaugh.
Fair or not, her allegations are a gift to defenders of Kavanuagh by allowing them to dismiss all the charges as implausible, crazy and over the top. Apparently Nixonâs people used to plant violent, disruptive protesters among the peaceful ones to discredit the whole movement. I think this can have the same effect.
Thereâs enough evidence without her claims. There was plenty reason to vote no before any accuser came forward.
I am 52 and am just now peeling back the layers of what happened to me when I was 12. Iâve never had a boyfriend that I stayed with that didnât shit on me, friends too for that matter. Took 40 years and Brett Fucking Kavanaugh to blow the lid off my secret, maybe I can now start to heal.
Thank you Dr. Blasey Ford for having a courage that would easily slip through most of our fingers.
So the number of lawsuits you are involved in equal credibility??? WowâŚwhat about the Donald? He just REALLY lack âcredibilityââŚor is this just another swipe at women from the AP?
I guess if youâre a WOMAN itâs a âgift to defenders of KavanaughââŚTRUMP brings too numerous to mention lawsuits and evidently these selfsame defenders think HEâS credible.
Iâm not sure they think heâs credible. But theyâre protecting and enabling him to squeeze all the Tax cuts, deregulation and voter suppression out of him they can.
