Discussion for article #234961
Well, looks like someone is getting a handout and might become dependent upon it, rather than just letting the free market have its way.
How apropos that a flamer like Glenn would name his little “news” site The Blaze
I was just going to say what SonsofAres said.
Wingnuts always say that we don’t need anti-discrimination laws because if a business tried to bar black people or Jews or gays from patronizing, the free market would use its invisible hand to put that company out of business. Well here you go with a perfect case study, but the free market doesn’t hold up so well when hate filled bigots open their wallets to put their fellow fundies into a “culture of dependency”.
Bigot landed face first into a huge pile of money.
Dumb fucking luck, eh?
I guess discrimination pays off after all.
the burdensome cost of having the media parked out front
Ha! New booth seats and window grout here we come…
Here come the chain emails from my crazy in-laws, and the posting of articles from the likes of TheBlaze on Facebook. Crap!
Just remember, every dollar sent to Memories Pizza hurts The Wounded Warrior Project’s cable fund raising.
“The intent was to help the family stave off the burdensome cost of having the media parked out front, activists tearing them down, and no customers coming in”
I’m guessing the “no customers coming in” wasn’t due to this event.
Give me a free pizza or I slant the coverage toward the homos!
What a fantastic scam! Simply announce that you would not serve X or Y, even though no X or Y has ever come within 100 miles of your establishment and watch the money roll in. They didn’t have to actually refuse to cater a gay wedding, since no one was ever going to have a lousy pizza joint cater a wedding. In fact, their statement is totally unverified and unverifiable.
In that spirit, I am hereby announcing that Ayatollah Khameini is unwelcome in my home. It doesn’t matter that he wasn’t coming anyway, I am not letting an anti-Semitic Mooslim in my house. Now pay up, Blaze readers!!
“You have done nothing wrong here”?!
How about “you have built a business based on the Republican business model of expanding a customer base to compete successfully against others whose goals are the same. Then you blew it up. You have only yourselves to blame.”
It is no surprise that they raised so much money for these people on ¨The Blaze,¨ in that separating fools from their money is the entire business model.
Geez, did not see that coming! %p
I hope Mister Beck or one of his minions are reading this website and the reader comments, because I want him to know how sincere I am in saying this:
Glen … Mister Beck … if I lived in Indiana - and we can never know the future - and if I were able to find suitable premises in some hoosier podunkville that a landlord’s willing to rent me (me!) - which I don’t know is even possible - and if also I had enough savings and/or collateral to get the credit for enough money to outfit and establish a pizza joint focusing on a customer base of white hoosiers who like to open-carry and wear pre-washed jeans and Dwight Yoakam hats and sport pointy rodeo boots even tho they work in sales and their hobby’s cheering on high school basketball and they ain’t never been on a horse and ain’t got no nevermind to and further ain’t got no excuse for why they use “ain’t” and “nevermind” when their great granpappy didn’t came over from Ireland or Scotland at all but instead from Gdansk or Novosibirsk or somewhere in the former Yugoslavia that’s since been burned to the ground, then I would definitey want you to know I’m committed to not make or sell gay pizzas or sell pizzas of any orientation to gays or indeed people of any sexual orientation
If interested, please reply and request Paypal account deposit code for my, um, business.
Actually glad this happened.the way it did.
Once this sensation passes–
and the big-money corporate types continue to boycott IN–
this little media-frenzy will be quickly forgotten.
It can’t continue.
How many Mom&Pop shops in Indiana will Beck’s foolish minions prop-up?

Sweet. That’s $140K that won’t be going into any GOP’s campaign fund.
Daddy!! Now you can get that double-wide with the solid-gold toilet you always wanted!
