Discussion: The Twitter User Hawking Trump Gear Speaks ― And It's Complicated

So… a “Trump supporter” tried to run a scam by making money off of other Trump supporters and the scam blew up and turned into a real “headache” for her? OK.

It’s “complicated”?

Um, it’s a “scam.” It’s “fraudulent.”

Wapo is reporting that “the account, according to experts, bears a lot of signs of a Russia-backed disinformation campaign.”

But we don’t need to investigate Russia, right Mr. “president*”?

They might be cunning but I’m a master!

I read that as well - which makes the whole story weirder and weirder. It maybe that through this story we get a better understanding of the nexus between bots pushing false narratives into the election via targeted social media via a Russian push.

Maybe a better analogy:

When you puke all over yourself and pass out, you wake up covered in vomit.

I think that describes America, the 2016 election and the current administration.

My identity makes it easier to sell merch.
Please respect my privacy.

I want to publish my opinions to the public so that everyone listens.
Please do not engage me on my opinions.

Also, why does Lorraine from Texas need to anonymously support Trump? None of this makes any sense.

Like ALL Republicans, they began with a crappy plan to defraud people, led by bushels of deceit and subterfuge in an effort to create interest in crappy products and rotten ideas, all collapsing in a flaming pile of shit.

I’m sure these admissions already admit to numerous crimes for which I hope they are all vigorously prosecuted.

Yeah, mine takes Nexgard and sleeps in my bed, and I haven’t seen a flea in years. Hence the alternative I suggest above.

A little OT but: Not only are we infested with Russian bots, I wonder how many real Russians are here running about these days. My neighbor and her son, the 32 year old guy at the country club who works a job mostly filled by high school and college kids, cab driver in DC, bunches of them working in Key West. They just keep popping up all over the place. How infested are we I wonder.

I don’t understand why the woman in question gave her last name to people who didn’t give her their last names. It smells like the woman is maintaining the tatters of the fraud with her allegedly limited memory and, I assume, equally alleged limited to nonexistant transactional record.

Isn’t is the Trump Business Model?

Can we really blame enterprising African Americans (or Russian oligarchs) for cashing in on it?

TPM reached Mincy via email Monday.

If nobody has actually talked to this “Nicole Mincy” in person, face-to-face, then the default assumption should be that “Nicole Mincy” does not actually exist. It’s more likely an email account based in Moldova or St. Petersburg than it is a real African American Trump supporter named “Nicole Mincy.”

Translation: They stiffed her. Collecting has been impossible.

What a surprise in TrumpLand.

I just read the Daily Beast article. Nobody at that publication has spoken to “NIcole Mincy” in person—all the communication was via FB, email, or by a phone call coming from “Nicole Mincy.” Until such time that “Nicole Mincy” is interviewed in person by a reputable journalist, anybody who believes that a black Republican named “Nicole Mincy” or anybody close to that name actually exists is conning themselves.

Given the shifting stories, changing narratives, and telephone numbers and names that don’t go anywhere that “Nicole Mincy” has provided, she has to provide a valid driver’s license and birth certificate to prove she actually exists. Karma’s a mean lady.
