Thatā€™s 36%, a lot more than Trumpā€™s 17. He doesnā€™t need much.

Actually itā€™s not ā€œrealā€. Most of the other candidates are lumped into one voting block, Trump is more the Palin block. Once people start to drop, their support goes to other candidates, not Trump. Right now he is maxed out on support. But if letā€™s say Jeb Bush dropped out, a lot of his support might go to Scott Walker (or vice versa), etc. So this is as high as Trump gets, and he has no shot. Kind of like Ron Paul (not as a person, just citing numbers). Ron Paul always did well early, then faded as the campaign process went on.

Hooray!! There is no one better to represent todayā€™s fiscal and socially conservative GOP! Four times bankrupt, three times divorced, hates Mexicans (who are way more native to North America than he is), and is a self-made man (with other peopleā€™s money)! Heā€™s perfect!!!

Based on what evidence?

Past experience, comparing him to Palin, another clown who just says stupid stuff and craves attention.

By the way, Trump does not want to be President. He just wants all the attention. He has to keep his licensing agreements going, and if he gets out of the public eye, they are not worth as much. That is a huge source of his income, just selling his name. But the last thing he wants to do is work for a living, and being a President requires all your attention and a lot of work.

Many of the other candidates are also clowns who just say stupid stuff and crave attentionā€¦ so will, say, Cruzā€™s voters go with Bush or with Trump?

Bush would not seem to generate a lot of enthusiasm whereas Trump does which then affects turnout.

Hey Reince! You will never get Trump back in the closet. For one thing, you donā€™t have a closet big enough to throw him into any more. RUN BABY RUNā€¦

Maybe if he puts TRUMP in large letters on the closet ?

I wish all a happy Jade Helm 15 !

Unless youā€™re GW Bush Jr! Then itā€™s all vacations, photo ops, and the occasional unsolicited shoulder rub, to soften up the skeptical.

For Trump to stay in this in a big way, he needs to subtly pivot partially towards sanity and to send messages that he intends to really win the nomination and beat Hillary. Try to halt meme of being protest candidate or summer fun candidate. Make pundits question themselves, as they refuse now to take him seriously.

This would be a huge stretch for Donald.

Your main guy after Trump is Bush. Walker is after that, and Trump would get little if any of his voters. Same with Rubio. Yes, some of Cruzā€™s people will go to Trump. I just see this as the peak for Trump, he has nowhere to go but down at this point. When foreign affairs and such start to be discusses, it will be Sarah all over again, he will fade.

Good point, Cheney was the President technically, along with the rest of the puppeteers ā€¦so I suppose Trump would have to pick a hard working VPā€¦

Who knew it would be this easy? At this rate the Coronation will be a snap. It should not be a snap, but thatā€™s another story around here, isnā€™t it?

a) If they will vote for Walker, they will vote for anyone. Trump is probably much less of a crook that Walker.

b) ā€œI can see Mexico from my penthouse?ā€

Trump will arrive and exit the 1st GOP debate via an El Chapo-style tunnel under his podium.

For the most part itā€™s reasonable to assume that if a personā€™s ā€˜first-pickā€™ candidate drops out, they will support the one who is most similar - or at least someone who shares some common ground with their original choice. I canā€™t see any reason why a Jeb Bush supporter would thnk Trump is the next-best-thing if Jeb is no longer an option.

More generally, between his existing reputation and the vile things heā€™s said lately, I canā€™t see any reasonable person thinking that Trump is a viable candidate. I donā€™t think itā€™s possible that there are a significant number of people who A) donā€™t see him as a joke or a racist asshole, and B) arenā€™t already supporting him.
