Move along.

Can I hazard a guess as to one of the unindicted co-conspirator’s identity? Rhymes with “Wristy”?? What do I win, Alex?

I was hoping to learn something new.

Doubtful. I’d guess they were the people who were following orders, but knew they were doing something wrong (PA Cops, etc.). Prosecutors would love to be able to indict Christie.

I see Christie found his fall guy…

Wow! Way to fall on your sword for “the fearless leader.” Or… “rotund ruler” … or…

Apparently, this is only round one from what I understand.
Wildenstein took a plea with the understanding that he will be singing like a canary and his lawyer claimed today that Christie was most certainly in the loop.

There’s more to come.

That’s the key. I seriously doubt Christie gave the direct order. But if it is shown that he knew about “who did it” before he said he did, he is in big trouble not only ethically, but potentially legally (covering up a crime). But the link needs to be in writing (email, text, etc.) for it to really nail him. That would be cool for sure.

Well, the new thing that I learned from this was that the US Attorney does not plan to bring additional charges. That was a disappointment, especially since we know there are other co-conspirators who remain unindicted.

Oh, good – I certainly hope so! Wildstein certainly dropped enough broad hints that he had the goods on Christie himself.

Why do you doubt that Christie gave the direct order? He certainly hasn’t been nice to teachers. I believe he’s a well known bully. And now this just verifies that he’s stupid as well.

Don’t forget that there’s still the little matter of David Sampson outstanding.
Baroni took a hit today and it’s important to remember that Christie was praising him as a stellar public servant during the last go 'round.
I think that between Sampson and Wildenstein, Christie’s into the deep shit.

Fishman sounds like a cautious man. I think he is just putting pressure on the others to sing. He wants an airtight case. Notice the wiggle room he left himself.

"Fishman told reporters that his office would not bring further charges in the BridgeGate case based on the evidence available at this time " (emphasis added).

I’ve never understood how this could have happened without Christie giving the order. Why would a bunch of people close to Christie–close in the chain of command and close personally–do this all on their own? The reason Christie is probably safe from indictment is the “reasonable doubt” standard of criminal law. Christie was smart enough to avoid e-mail messages; his associates were not. Contradictory testimony about conversations (especially vague Mafia-boss-type conversations) would probably suffice to create reasonable doubt.

There’s some plausible deniability going on here, and CC almost certainly stage managed the closure. Even the most arrogant and self-assured of aides could not initiate such a stunt for fear that the boss would fire them after reaming them out. CC knew, but unlike Nixon, he had no need to preserve the orders on tape or anywhere else.

The operative phrase here is " based on the evidence available at this time"

The pressure is on Bridgette Kelly a single mom with four children. With Wildstein’s and other evidence; she is looking at seeing her kids during visiting hours at the Federal Graybar Hilton for the next few years. They will try hard to get her to deliver Crispy.

Yes, David Sampson. He certainly wouldn’t have left his law firm because of Bridgegate, especially since we now know that no more indictments are currently pending (even though others were involved).

Well, enjoy the ride.

I’d rather he go down for far worse stunts.

My husband used to be critical of Clinton because he had a blowjob. I always told him it was not something that hurt anyone except his family.

I just reminded him that the awful crap that republicans have pulled for years has done untold damage to the American people and the reputation, as it is, to this country.

It’s about time the puritans came into the 21st century and realize why they’re so unhappy, ignorant and broke.
