Well, if he did, he definitely did not do it in writing, and you can’t nail him without that.
For the second time in history, a giant blimp has crashed and burned in New Jersey.
Well, stick a fork in him. He’s done, not that he had much of a chance to be president anyway.
I think this is a bullshit cover story by a predetermined fall guy. This bridge story and the Hoboken land deal and the billion dollar high rise by the base of the GWB, this is all about the Port Authority ties to the mob, and big big bucks. That may or may not ever come out. If were a reporter I’d be afraid to dig too deep on this. One thing we can count on is our media being stupid and afraid.
“…without any advance notice…”
Now we know why government doesn’t work.
I thought that the Chris Christie’s high school buddy who conducted the multi-million dollar investigation that New Jersey tax payers paid for had completely absolved everyone and resolved all of the Bridgegate issues.
I am wondering why the Lieutenant governor and the Samson Delilah guy at the Port Authority weren’t charged.
I’d rather he go down for far worse stunts.
Perhaps, but the fact that he (or even his underlings without direct orders, but almost certainly with the understanding that it’s what he wanted) would orchestrate such a large and complex operation just to get back at a mayor who declined to endorse him (from he opposite party, no less) goes to show the depth of his depravity. If you call it a “character flaw”, it’s one that’s genuinely disqualifying for high office, unlike getting a blow job.
Since well before they had cameras common law courts have been nailing people on testimony about conversations.
It would be nice if CC could be caught redhanded stuffing $100,000 bribes into his freezer, but this will have to do for now. The issue isn’t so much the bridge closing, for what seems to be stupid and vindictive political retribution. The issue is the abuse of power, and the arrogant disregard for his constituents that matters.
You know, Wildstein and the crew are guilty of this and much more. I think he’s pleading guilty and singing to get the least time possible and because he doesn’t want to pursue the deeper investigation. Kelly says that she isn’t guilty of this and they are sure to make it all about the traffic jam and keep the focus off of the rest of the Christie administration’s dirty deals.
There is much more sleaze involved with this group and they are damned lucky if it only ever is about the traffic jam.
As far as the unnamed co-conspirators, that is just a defense mechanism by Fishman to keep Christie and the others that aren’t sure if they are in the clear yet, quiet and at bay. Governor Tubbo can’t relax for a second and that’s awesome sauce all by itself.
True, but were any against a person like a governor? They would need at least two people for that, and even then it would be tough to indict. Oh, I hope it happens, but I’m not being overly optimistic.
Yes, I certainly hope that when he said “at this time” what he really meant was “until I’ve had a chance to put the screws on Kelly and Baroni”.
The key phrase was “would not bring further charges in the BridgeGate case based on the evidence available at this time”. But when Kelly and Baroni make a deal to avoid jail, they will provide more evidence that Christie knew or even directed Bridgegate.
But it would be so much fun if Chris Christie ran for president. Think of it: a man who is so utterly convinced of his superiority and has the egotistical gravitas and self-regard to mount waves of high dudgeon somehow fails to notice his corrupt Republican operatives in the middle of his office. Surely, the comics are hoping and have material?
