Discussion for article #223914
Matt Kibbe likes him. Oh, god help us.
Please proceed Mr. Labrador
Let the cannibalism continue. Did the GOP really think there wouldn’t be blood? Wait, GOP and think in the same sentence, never mind.
“Labrador has an clear case to make on the face of it: anti-establishment conservatives ousted the No. 2 House Republican, therefore his replacement should be an anti-establishment conservative.” What nonsense. A single district voted for this extremist. How much influence does one congressional district have? Just because that corner of Virginia has become even crazier it doesn’t mean the entire Republican House caucus should lose what’s left of its mind.
“President Obama and the Democrats have had their chance and they have failed,”
6 1/2 years of balls-out, insane obstructionism, and this moronic goofball says Obama and the Democrats have had their chance and they have failed???
It’s obvious that this Labrador only fetches for Koch.
The Republicans will make it look close, with the T-Party-obligated list prioritized down to the barest necessity to get there. They know there are a few pure-T members who will be on that list at all cost, but the edges will be tested by this bit of Congressional kabuki.
There will be blood ion the water, a very few of them who walk away as “wafflers” in the eyes of the T-Mob.
Too late. Buy popcorn futures.
Or just because Cantor was a lazy jackass who spent all his time eyeing the guy above him instead of doing his job, for that matter.
Spooky Thought #748: Extreme Right takes House Majority Whip. Extreme Right takes Senate and gains full control of House. Boehner steps down, Extreme Right Whip becomes Speaker. Extreme Right House impeaches both Pres and Veep, Extreme Right Senate convicts both. Extreme Right Speaker becomes Pres.
Could this happen? Is there enough grassroots support for such a coup to occur?
Appropos of something, I guess, I saw the Globe at the supermarket yesterday. A headline read, “Impeach Him Now!” (referring to Obama).
I think McCarthy is really in over his head on this. He won’t command ANY respect from the teabaggers and they will make his life real difficult. Add in to mix that McCarthy’s tenure as House whip was kinda weak anyway.
I’ve heard that next year, the debt ceiling comes around again. Potential armeggedon redux. It’s not just an issue of “obstructionism.” I’m talking out and out sabotage. No doubt Boner won’t make it past the '14 midterms. And then Hensarling can really make his stand.
Weak whip? Apparently he couldn’t even COUNT. If he could, Boner wouldn’t have pulled some many public boners.
What’s The Globe?
I don’t think that a Republican Majority Leader can control the majority party in House if it is Republican because it is made up of so many little factions.
It is a club that Big Audio Dynamite sang about in the 90s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPrPNpzLHIk
“…and a different approach…”
The full-on, unapologetic, aggressive application of raw government power, mandating obedience to the spiritual beliefs of Republican Congressmen by every man, woman, and child on the face of the planet.
Dear Josh,
As a Republican, I abhor the implication that the Republican Party is a haven for cannibalism! It is well known that we now have the problem relatively under control, and it is the Natural Law Party who now suffer the greatest casualties in this area.
Very truly yours,
Eric Cantor in a white wine sauce with shallots and garlic
One of your better efforts!
In that case, you should change your screen name fromfaboofour to fubar! I’ll change mine to snafu!
“But the message from Tuesday is clear – Americans are looking for a change in the status quo.”
Uuuuhhhh, sure. The vote was 36,000 to 29,000 (rounded). Brat was able to find 7,000 more morons to vote for him than Cantor was. That’s 7,000 out of 760,000 people. In IQ statistics, that’s all the people in the district with IQ’s of 60 or less. So the quote should be re-written as:
The teabaggers got all riled-up and demanded, “sumpin’ diffrent.”
