Discussion: The Bitter Pill #NeverTrump Is Struggling To Swallow: Supporting Hillary

Discussion for article #247370

Iā€™m stunned that radical neocons like Kagan and Wolfowitz arenā€™t Trump supporters.

Itā€™s a crazy fucking world these days.

The Republican Party has to be destroyed and Donald Trump is just the man to do it.

If half of what the Republicans say about Hillary is true, the neocons should love her.

Maybe they should accept an opposition president, put forth a conservative yet considered agenda, and work toward compromise and governance? Nahā€¦

A Sanders supporter who will vote for Trump over Clinton is a true hypocriteā€¦

Yeah. That would do wonders for foreign relations!

Elliot Abrams, mis that the best the Republicans can come up with to represent their party, a convicted terrorist supporter? He says that Nixon McGovern was an election to sit out? Nixon was a criminal, while McGovern was a veteran who flew thirty five missions over Europe in WWII? Like, where is the logic? Abramsā€™ logic is equivalent to Nazis are better than liberals.

Oh. yeah, like THAT will work. One without a heart and another a traitorā€¦oh, wait their both traitors.

Would you vote for Beelzebub? HRC has become a demonic figure of mythic proportions on the right and the anti-HRC universe has been carefully constructed over decades. A few ā€˜moderateā€™ Northeastern ā€˜squishesā€™ might pull the lever for HRC but the vast majority of Republicans just wonā€™t be able to bring themselves to do it. At the most they might sit out the election.

ā€œpeople see her as the third term of Barack Obama. She is a very polarizing figure in her own nature.ā€

So Graham (1) condemns Trump, and (2) repeats precisely the kind of lie that gave rise to the Trump phenomenonā€“that Obama, a conciliatory managerial centrist, is the great polarizer of the nation. Nice.

Itā€™s modern conservative cant: they have to say it.

I canā€™t tell you how many people Iā€™ve seen argue that Trump and Clinton are cut from the same cloth. How do you reason with people like that?
I can tell you that if the Democrats nominated Louis Farrakhan, and Mitt Romney was the GOP nominee, Iā€™d be first in line on Election Day to vote for Mitt. Then, Iā€™d go home and vomit.

For those who mean ā€“ seriously ā€“ #NeverTrump, a Trump nomination gives them three options: support Clinton, pray for a third party option or sit out all together.

They could support Sanders. He is in favor of fair trade and not free trade, just like Trump.

Heā€™s also against special interest money ruling politics, something Trump touches on.

All that without the racism and xenophobia.

Hillary Clinton, a figure that attracts a singular brand of hatred and opposition from the Republican Party

Not to be confused with the other singular brand of hatred and opposition that they have for Barack Obama.

Letā€™s face it ā€“ the Democrats could nominate an eggplant for President, and the Republicans would start describing Eggplant Parmigiana as a foreign, socialist plot.

All these people wanting a third party candidate and none willing to actually do it. Profiles in courage.
