The RNC convention was great. Trump really believed he had put on the best convention anyone had ever seen. Star power, glamour and great speakers. Clearly he had never paid attention to any previous conventions.
Then he saw the DNC convention and Trump’s disappointment was palpable. You could feel his disappointment in his speeches and tweets during and immediately following. This is when he first started talking about him losing.
So is this article trying to say it was Manafort that couldn’t get candidate Rump to behave like a normal human being? Because that was never gonna happen no matter who was in charge. If the article is to suggest that Manafort made the Rump campaign more controversial…from all I can tell, they thrive on controversy, so that wasn’t it either. It was all the more reason for his being hired in the first place. Like attracts like, in this case.
The fact is, no one can control that buffoon running for President. He’s already made a mockery of what a Presidential candidate should stand for. Nor can Rump find a decent up-standing human being to run his campaign because let’s face it, no decent human being wants anything to do with him…So, its a corrupt, low-life, criminal type that gets his nod of approval. No other type seems to fit in well with his operation otherwise. Besides, that seems to be their preference. Its always been a den of thieves…and this is what comes of it.
Chapter Three – Bannon Arrives To Take Over.
How long before he’s thrown under the bus? I say right after the first debate. Anyone taking bets yet?
Perhaps Chapter Four – Roger Ailes Officially Takes Over
And Melania’s speech was so amazing that Michelle Obama actually time-traveled into the future in order to reverse-plagiarize it in her 2008 DNC speech.
Media commentators are all abuzz today about Donald Trump going to Louisiana - so I am sure this will be labeled a rousing success for Kellyanne and Bannon. And, Trump donated one truck of supplies, so he is now the second coming of Jesus. I just saw a clip of him helping to unload some small food boxes. You can tell he’s never done anything like this before - the optics are worse that Paul Ryan washing clean pots.
I caught a few minutes of CNN today talking about his turnaround with the way he expressed regrets the other day…Then the anchor had the sense to ask one of his operatives, “what exactly is he regretting?” Didn’t take long for some nonsensical spin about how “everyone has regrets, and if he hurt anyone its only natural he expresses his regret over this”. Nothing specific, just generic regrets…like that’s some kind of monumental feat. Seems to have satisfied the anchor however…so that amazingly low bar of a pivot with newly minted spinmeisters is clearly underway, and apparently it’s doing its magic on CNN at the moment. I thought it was truly pathetic.
They’re back to square one and they’re treating it like he just hit a fucking home run.
Robby Mook: ( Clinton campaign manager): “You can get rid of Manafort, but that doesn’t end the odd bromance Trump has with Putin,” Mook said. “Trump still has to answer serious questions hovering over his campaign given his propensity to parrot Putin’s talking points, the roster of advisers like Carter Page and Mike Flynn with deep ties to Russia, the recent Russian government hacking and disclosure of Democratic Party records, and reports that Breitbart published articles advocating pro-Kremlin positions on Ukraine.”
Mook also challenged Trump to “come clean on his own business dealings with Russian interests.”
Manfort may be going but not the Trump/Putin “affair” that makes Trump look like a Russian mole:
“Trump’s detractors criticized him for using a terrorist attack that left 49 dead and 53 wounded as an opportunity to pat himself on the back.”
To paraphrase The Hitchhiker’s Guide:
“Donald Trump’s ego is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist, but that’s just peanuts to Donald Trump’s ego. Listen…”
It is truly astounding. One, tiny, non-offensive act or comment and Donald Trump becomes a magnanimous hero. I expect his campaign staff to push that narrative, but the media jumps right on that bandwagon. Even when a reporter asks one reasonable question, they accept any kind of reply as a justification of Trump’s nonsense.
P.S. I am happy that Trump is losing Michigan. My roots are in that state and it pains me to see what Snyder has done.
