Discussion: The Best And Worst Of Paul Manafort's Failed Trump Pivot

Clearly, despite the ignominious firing, Paul Manafort is still a part of the campaign expansion not the shake up,

Great job Tramp. Your father, the Ku Klux Klan thug, enforcer and rioter and your family of little tramps would be very proud of your christianity and conservative bigotry.

You are really capable of appealing to the worst instincts in conservatives.

Perhaps Trump should’ve done some “extreme vetting” of Manafort.

Is Bruce Willis really a Trump supporter?

If that naked statue of Trump was anywhere close to reality, no doubt he was lifting very light boxes of styrofoam cups.

Actually, that’s what he was doing that looked so ridiculous. They had made an unloading line and were passing him tiny boxes of supplies. I’m a small, older woman and I would have insisted on holding 3-4 of those at a time.

Compare Trump’s long list of continuing boorishness and stupidity to that spoken by Barry Goldwater in 1964 at the RNC in his acceptance speech. Barry’s quotes sank his campaign before it started. Trump on the other hand continues to behave in an epically stupid manner blowing holes in his own campaign at every opportunity. Trump has done this from the day he first announced his run by calling Mexicans rapists and “not the country’s best”. Only now a full year later does he try to be mildly contrite. Goldwater chose to be himself and went down in flames. I fervently hope trump does worse. Every indication is he will.

Great Image! One quibble. The hammer and sickle should be replaced by an oil rig. That’s much closer to what it’s all about.

One of the sad realities - no new Doug!

Like the sad reality of no more Terry Prachett.

Mr. Marshall, Mr. Silver, and virtually everyone outside the GOP base agree with you.

Of course, none of them is a Thinker™.

Not like that guy with the Burma Shave tweets a while back.

You know, that New Media Guru™ who “dropped a tweetstorm” on us and our “comfortable illusions”.

(I think his name was Clay Slacky or something.)

His ‘sandbag line’, unload-the-toys photo-op was ludicrous from a work perspective. His reach and pivot was about the distance between his shoulders. Get him the hell out of the way and the toy unloading would have been much more efficient. Yacht-club blazer was a stupid move as well. “…ahh, the big one” he says. LOL!

Well, Trump followers may wish for Manafort back. It would seem that the miracle of Trump expressing regret is GONE. He is at a rally in Michigan - after a few labor statistics, he got sidetracked. He insulted the entire black population, then started rambling, eventually screaming; in other words, the unhinged Trump is back.

Of course he is - no one can hinge Trump now.

And I for one couldn’t be happier.

Total UNITY!

We’ll reject all bigotry…except those that don’t share our common values (aka his).

sr, I am willing to bet next month’s Social Security check (just got this month’s and I need it) that by Monday trump will be back on track insulting, behaving boorishly, saying stupid shit, and tweeting like a junkie out of smack. No amount of polish on this turd is gonna work. He will not change. He himself said so. And he’s fired his only chance at a conduit to the GOP money at the RNC. Those guys are in a panic about everyone else who is running for down ticked offices. Tey don’t have money for trump anymore. Trump has shown his inability at fund raising by attempting to enlist foreign politicians! Not that that is illegal or anything…
By the 1st of next week we will have another wet and squishy turd tossed by Hizzoner to mull over. It has to happen because Brietbart is now in control and he’s not known to be all warm 'n fuzzy…
Frankly I am awed that Mitch McConnell or someone else of his stature hasn’t publicly said that trump should quit the race for the good of the country.

@Marby

Trump was always unhinged from the get-go.

The problem was that he never stopped being ‘Trump’

What do you bet Trump starts waving around the stained blue dress (or reasonable, sorry exaggerated, facsimile) at his huuuge rallies?

So. What comes out over the weekend?

Marsh Blackburn saying the speech is just wonderful! At least she’s being asked about his policies. Apparently doing away with taxes and regulation constitute detailed policy proposals.
