What a crock!

With Red State Republicans, it’s always “Everything for Me, and Nothing for Thee.”

Yes, we could tailor it just for Texas by including a voters rights provision plus a restatement of the separation of church and state.

That’s how the GOP rolls they hate big government until they need it

FOX:: This is not hypocrisy. Republicans only look out for themselves. Red states must not suffer at any cost if we want to keep Whiteness in power.

Government funds should go to

A. Building The Wall along the border between the USA and Mexico
B. Rebuilding Texas communities destroyed by Harvey

Choose ONE.

We’re being too hard on Sessions: Sandy was clearly different, for reasons that Sessions will now explain.

Mr Sessions?

Maybe “big government” can help out?

"Once again, it’s not really a matter of whether you vote against it or not.”

If this Texan is saying he’d vote against a hypothetical bloated aid package for Texas then make me an honorary Missourian because I would love to see it.

New Jersey. Liberal bastion with illiberal bastard in charge that hugged Obama. Need he say more?

Number of Republicans who voted against aid after Katrina: 11

Number of Republicans who voted against aid after Sandy: 179

I’m half-tempted to call my Senators (Schumer & Gillibrand) and urge them to vote against aid for Texas; of course, the other, better, non-vindictive half recognizes that the need for aid after devastating flood and wind damage is too great to play politics with it.

Yes, let’s tailor the response to Texas: Pull yourselves up by your soggy bootstraps and let the Free Market* fix it!

(*Without the cheap labor of “illegals”, of course…)

Sessions said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that in terms of aid for Hurricane Sandy, he supported an initial, short-term $17 billion package, but opposed a long-term package that he argued had been bloated.

Sandy residents are still waiting for financial help, aren’t they?

Who exactly determines what figure is bloated anyway? You know republicans will vote for any dollar amount. They’ll see dollar signs and will welcome all the money Texas can get.

Sefish, hypocritical pigs. Irresponsible and incompetent governance.

This hypocrisy is in a few Texas newspapers.
Unfortunately, it quotes only Republicans defending their votes, with no fact-checking.
(sigh)

“Texas senators Cruz and John Cornyn were among 36 Republicans who voted against a January 2013 supplemental disaster aid bill to help devastated communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.”

"eight Texas Republicans voted against increasing flood insurance, and 23 voted against emergency funding for victims. "
