Discussion: Texas GOPer Defends Vote Against Sandy Aid As Home State Sees Disaster

Republicans are always in favor of big government when they’re in charge. That’s one of the biggest myths out there that they say they’re against. Its situational as to who is in charge…always. One only has to look at how they fund the Pentagon with projects even the Pentagon rejects routinely. They balloon the deficit whenever they take over too. Its just what they do. Progressive politicians spend all their tenure fixing it when they take over, but never message what they’re doing aggressively enough while GOPers paint them with the lie that they’re blowing up the debt and deficits when they take over. This lie has gone on without much change my entire life.

P.S. GOPers also are always for state’s rights until some liberal leaning Democratic state votes for gun restrictions or free access to abortion under the law.

“You need to consider the number of Real Americans TM affected. Now, with Sandy there weren’t any Real Americans TM affected just a bunch of latte drinking cosmopolitan urbanites so there was no need for spending any aid money. Which is completely different than Harvey where those affected are Texans the Realest of Real Americans TM, so obviously any amount of aid possible is justified.”

See, and that bleeding heart side of us Dems means that we’ll always be at the mercy of the Goopers who represent states that say “if they’re blue, screw 'em”.

IOW, “none of that Good Samaritan shit for us — we’re Christians!!!”

Because bloated Americans are the realest Americans. Look - we have one in the White House! Only libtards eat vegetables - look at the commie Obama vegetable garden!

You do whores a disservice by drawing an equivalence with today’s GOP.

Something in the realm of shit stain is a better starting point.

Bloated would be if they included buying everyone new guns to replace ones lost in the flooding, instead of refurbished.

If this Texan is saying he’d vote against a hypothetical bloated aid package for Texas then make me an honorary Missourian because I would love to see it.

WTF, all that money comes from the blue states that always pay the bills anyway.

Until Democrats start doling out the same medicine, they’ll keep taking it in the ass. Democrats are NEVER rewarded for being the adults in the room.

Go through they any bill with a fine tooth comb and root out the waste and fraud. Those people aren’t going anywhere…they’ll ‘hunker down’ while you do it.

As Dylan astutely observed…“when ya ain’t got nothin’,ya got nothing to lose”…the bullshit-o-meter just cracked and flew off the desk with this one…people in these circumstances need help…not vacuous nonsense from amoral dopes.

Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Ticksus) says: I hear y’all need sandbags. Here I am!

It is this endless, pointless yak that now substitutes for news that obscures.
Why else did Trump pound out self-serving yet uplifting tweet after tweet?
Leadership!!! Don’t make me laugh and choke on floodwaters…

Cognitive dissonance GOP style. The Gospel according to Reagan proclaims that “Government is the problem,” evolution is more of that fake science stuff, but they want the federal money.
