Discussion: Ted Cruz's Campaign Responds To The Birthers:

Discussion for article #239576

Nuh-uh! Can’t avoid it by avoiding it. Every GOP demand and accusation must be met with fury and shouting. C’mon, Raphael, jump into this pit and get muddy.

Yet when Obama, whose mother was a natural born citzen, was born inside the United States…

‘‘Despite the happenstance of a birth across the border’’ Huh? Mr. Cruz is a white Canadian. President Obama is a black American born in Hawaii. Only in America can a natural born black man be denied his birth right, whilst a white Canadian roams free. Damn…

Obama is a Democrat. IOKIYAR. Don’t forget that rule!

I do wish we had a bigger field in our primarires. We really need a few folks that have zero chance to win, but have a great wit, to just troll these bozos endlessly for us.

Oh, the chickens are coming home to roost now …

Canada is a beautiful peaceful place. We treat each other with respect, as to get respected. We hate stupid wars and warmongers. We are fair and balanced (really), we have no NRA, every single Canadian regardless of age, race, or economic stance has access to free healthcare. Mr. Cruz does not appreciate those Canadian traditions, hence the reason he so loves your country. He is more than welcome to come home, just as soon as he becomes a ‘‘real’’ Canadian. You sir are welcome.

That’s different.

No, no calm down… he showed a piece of paper which purports to be his birth certificate but that doesn’t mean anything unless and until he releases the results of a maternity testing proving he is that woman’s child and also her birth certificate and passport records so that we know that she was old enough and had resided in the U.S. long enough after she hit 18 to confer citizenship on him.

And further while he may indeed have been an American citizen from birth he was also a Canadian citizen from birth and according to some Birther theorists that means he was not a ‘natural born’ citizen within the meaning of the Constitution. The purpose of ‘natural born’ according to them is that the would be candidate is loyal solely to the United States and how can that possibly be true of Cruz since he has been a dual citizen since birth and only forswore his loyalty to Canada when he decide to run for our Presidency? The damned ferner. /Snark

Oh yeah. I forgot. My bad.

Well given his anti-Constitutional and anti-American views, maybe the Birthers have a point about Cruz.

Loved Canada when I was there a few times. Every person I met was so nice–it was a little unnerving.

Every so often when I look at the Republican Klown Kar I get an attack of Nativism and start pondering the merits of adopting a Constitutional Amendment requiring that all four grandparents and both parents and any step-parents before majority must be American citizens for any one to run for the Presidency. That would eliminate Santorum, Trump, Cruz, Jindal and Rubio. Then I realize it would not eliminate Paul or Bush and would have eliminated Obama. At that point I give it up as a bad idea.

I have friends who moved to Victoria, BC and started down the path to Canadian citizenship when Bush was re-elected. My wife and I visited them, and I could see they made the right move.

He also pointed to a Harvard Law Review article

Harvard Law? They gave a degree to that well-known Constitutional George Costanza, Ted Cruz. Why believe them?

Also, conflict of interest: while there he was a “primary editor” of the Review. The guy can’t even make denials without the appearance of impropriety.

Not that I ever advocate violence, but Jesus H. Christ, that smug, greasy-haired face is just begging for a smack.
