Ho, hum. Another story about how the GOP is going to implode. I’m sure if we continue to just watch, keeping quiet, remaining passive, and act like good boys and girls the Democrats will rise to ascendancy.

I was told to expect that after the 2012 election too. That really worked out on Tuesday, huh?

No matter who is in power, the Senate is a broken system. I am an unabashed Dem and have no patience for the GOP supply side xenophobe chickenhawk secession-is-next style of deluding itself, but the only way to break the mold is going to happen when Dems call a mission on themselves. They must be able to stand up for good public policy and be willing to get thrown out of office for doing so. Until then, regardless of the outcome for the Senator, integrity will remain MIA in DC.

Republicans wanted to be in power, now they have a harder road ahead of themselves - they have to do something now that they are in power. Unlike the Newt days the GOP is not in lockstep and McConnell and Boner are going to have a real hard time getting any significant legislation through their respective chambers, let alone something that Obama will sign off on.

Of course it is up to the Democrats to actually message the dysfunction of the GOP to the public so that 2014 is not repeated.

He;s in a good position, being the Supreme Leader of Congress. Yes, he carries more clout and power than John Boehner and Mitch McConnell combined in the GOP caucus. This must piss off Rand Paul.

As so it begins.

No one likes Ted Cruz except for the crazies. The fact that he has so much power pretty much shows how much the Republicans are influenced by the radicals.
The middle that they govern to is hanging off of a cliff.

I have been saying this for some time now, that Carnival Cruz is going to be a royal headache for old Mitch, and Cruz feels no need to be loyal to either his party or the turtle. In fact Cruz thinks old Mitch should go as Majority Leader.

Cruz is the epitome of an ego maniac. He is a sociopath who believes that God has ordained him a king, and I am not kidding, as that is exactly what his weird religious beliefs have told him., and daddy lunatic Cruz has not been shy about proclaiming this.
Cruz believes his ascendency into becoming King of the world is to be President, and he will not be stopped. He is too insane to believe that his antics for the next two years will not only make it a sure bet that he will never be President, he does not believe that it will harm his party either. People say he is just shrewd, but no, he is indeed this totally insane, and his bizarre form of Christianity is what drives his insanity.

Yesterday pretty much told the tale…Windsock Boner’s angry schnauzer face and burning match metaphor along with the premature soundbites we’ve come to expect from Rand & Ted forecasts dark, crazy winds blowing from all-white, Fundamentalist Mordor…Palin could seem the Orc Eleanor Roosevelt.

The Republicans will self implode. Their agenda IS NOT MAIN STREAM America. The FAR Rightwing MUST have their way, or they go ‘BOOM’

He really doesn’t. He gets lots of press coverage, but he has almost no allies in the party.

Part of why he has been trying to become the Shadow Speaker of the House is because nobody will listen to him in the Senate. And with 200+ GOPers in the House vs `50ish in the Senate, he has much better chances of finding someone to listen to him while scarfing down chips and salsa.

Out of the three mentioned by Dylan, I think Paul is the only one that is serious about a run for the nomination. Rubio MAY toss his hat into the race, but strictly to keep his name in contention for a VP slot.

Cruz cannot win a national election. I am pretty sure everyone in the GOP knows this, including Cruz himself. The only way I see him running is if he and DeMint get together and decide they want to end the GOP once and for all, crash and burn it and rebuild it into a TP engine, then he might run. But of course, by doing so, it destroys the party.

They’ve done a great job hiding their agenda for a long time. Eventually it will come out. Truth will out.

“The fact that he has so much power…”

Yes. He has been a real legislative lion in the Senate. I can’t keep up with all the bills he has submitted that he saw through to becoming laws…(probably because there aren’t any).

The only thing of mention Cruz has done is to hold meetings with HOUSE members (not Senate) and incite insurrection against Boehner. Who, by the way, is still Speaker of the House, so not really much of an insurrection.
