I’m not sure if Arturo Cruz understands how the Constitutional amendment process works or how deliberately difficult it is to add or remove an amendment. Especially one as iconic as the first amendment. Cruz is trying to gin up fear in his audience and that’s despicable. What he referred to has nothing whatever to do with removing the first amendment but rather that corporations have more political power than ordinary people as far as political speech in the form of donations.This is about MONEY not freedom of speech or religion.

There seem to be some attempts in some parts of the country to repeal or at the very least ignore the Eighth Amendment, which prohibits Cruel and Unusual punishment.

Nixon was a paragon of honesty next to this absolutely shocking liar. He’s just sociopathic; there seems to be no conscience there, no recognition that what you say should align with reality at some level. Just amazing. This can’t become acceptable. I don’t know exactly can be done about it, but censure by the Senate comes to mind.

I’m sure he understands intellectually. What I wonder is whether he laughs up his sleeve when he gets home or if he’s crazy enough to believe in some parallel universe where what he’s saying is true. We’re leaving political science behind and getting into psychiatry when we try to understand what’s happening with him.
