Discussion: Ted Cruz Calls For Federal Aid Following Texas Flooding

Republican arch-conservative is a hypocrite. What a shock.

That’s your cue Crispy Creme…Time to come out from behind your behind, (if that’s even possible).

“Initially, it appears those thresholds are likely to be satisfied by the magnitude of the damage we’re seeing,” Cruz said…"

Themz fightin’ words, Tubby…and we all know you love a good old fashioned food fight.

Crispy to respond in 3,2,1…

And we all know what “elsewhere” means.

[cough]poor people[cough]

In 30 years those big buildings being built on the Florida coast will not be able to get insurance or mortgages. Cruz will be in a state that is going under water. But we know the Grand Old Greed-heads are always out for themselves especially if they can scam tax-payers.

Well, to be fair to Texas, they actually send more to Washington than they receive, but since they keep electing folks to state and national office that believe they shouldn’t be sending anything that way, I say fuck 'em.

I hate Ted Cruz’s face - both of them.

Well, since this was God’s way for punishing the bigots and the freaks for identity theft in the matter of using His name to justify their bigotry and hatred, it would be unconscionable for our Christian nation to alleviate the suffering God hath wrought.

Of course we’ll help them, you fucking buffoon. And, unlike some Texans, gladly. There are after all many Texans of good conscience. But even the most misanthropic and bigoted among them shouldn’t suffer.

You see, as I’m sure you’d attest, many of your fellow citizens lack what you deem to be “God-given morals.” So luckily for you, we would never treat you the way you’d treat others if we’d only let you. We liberals are oppressors that way.

Now, bow to our will, slaves, and we’ll unleash the awesome power of a government run amok.

As a Manhattanite who spent nearly a week without power after Sandy, I certainly have a strong desire to punish Texans for electing assholes like Cruz who opposed aid to the region afterwards.

That said, my criteria for sending aid to a region is how much suffering and damage needs to be alleviated, and whether it was a natural disaster or one of their own making - not how much I like or dislike the recipients.

Since the damage appears to be pretty extensive, and it was a natural disaster (as opposed to a warehouse blowing up because of lax regulation and enforcement), I say send the spiteful hypocrites the aid money.

I don’t like it, but it’s needed and necessary.

As did fellow Texass Senator Cornyn:

And a bunch of Texan reps in the House.

But wouldn’t that make them “takers”? You know the very people Texans hate.

Wrong. You don’t punish victims of natural disasters for the idiocy of their elected officials. Jeez.

I contend this is a sure sign from Above that an event of cosmic proportions is nigh: a cataclysm where the entire known universe violently sticks its head up its own ass.

Gee, I dunno – I hear Senator Graham finds his other face to be quite attractive.

Thug.

Is Ted going to demand that the flood relief aid to Texas be offset with cuts to other programs, and is he going to threaten to shut down the federal government unless it happens? Or does that sort of legislative blackmail only happen when someone else’s priorities and needs are at stake? Someone state is under water, and someone else’s voters are living in shelters?

Just asking. Maybe it is a Canadian thing …

NO WAY troll.

If storm relief isn’t available to other states, it should never be available to those that vote against it!!

Cuban’s are not Hispanics.

I was referring to MSM reporters. The TV/cable networks, the Sunday talk shows, the major newspapers, news radio, AP, Reuters, etc. The media that large numbers of people read.

I don’t know what’s sadder: that Cruz expects people to believe his bullshit, or that in many cases, he’s correct in that expectation.
