Actually, Obama created the storms using chemtrails as a ruse to allow him to pre-position FEMA assets throughout Texas as part of Jade Helm 15.
How does Cruz not see this?!?! Unless he’s in on it as well.

First he votes against aid for Hurricane Sandy victims. Then he shuts down the government over Obamacare. BUT…
When his wife leaves her cushy job, he uses the ACA for his family’s health insurance, but he still gets mad because he has not subsidies.
Then when Texas is being flooded, he demands emergency flood assistance from the federal government because of course the flooding out of Texans is more important than the needs of other Americans.
This man is not fit to be a US Senator and Texas deserves him. The only pity is that the Tea Party/Koch Brothers party will support this maniac right into the White House if the rest of America lets them. What happens then? Will he drive this nation into complete financial ruin, or just make us the target for every nation in this world as he pushes Armageddon policies in the Middle East because he thinks God has anointed him King over governments in the future (talk about great Anti-Christ material!)?
Take your pick, America, a hypocrite and liar or something better this time around, if something better can be found (like Bernie Sanders, perhaps?).
We should send Texas the money – they need it and we are more decent than Ted Cruz. But the money should be bundled with more funding to study climate change and enforce environmental regulation in Texas. There’s no sense in treating the symptoms without looking into the cause. If Ted cannot stand with Obama and publicly call for the flood/climate/environment bill, then they get nothing. There must be consequences to sending such horrible people to the Senate.
What you describe is what happened when Oklahoma experienced devastating and predictable tornados a few years ago. The state had put aside about $6 million for disaster relief and had to ask the Federal government they hate so much to come up with the rest.
Dear American voters, I’d like you to meet grotesque hypocrisy and rank self-righteousness.
I’d say it’s specific. When someone shows you who they really are…believe them.
Obviously Ted Cruz is a hypocrite. But we really should learn from the Sandy experience. Look at how mismanaged that federal funding has been. The Christie admin wasted tons of money, lots went to cronyism, and the rich got aid while years later the poorest in NJ still have seen nothing.
But, of course, in a few weeks you’ll probably hear him say “okay, we’ve got the federal funding, now butt out and let Gov. Abbott take care of it.”
Blatant hypocrisy has become such a common theme of GOP politics and politicians that it no longer surprises me. What does surprise is whenever one of these clowns acts with honor and decency, a phenomena which is becoming rarer and rarer.
Ted Cruz must be held accountable for his beliefs. He believes in his Sandy opposition good for him, now he must stand by his opposition to flood relief to show he is a strong leader. what about it senator??? as President we need to now what you stand for.
Doesn’t this article call him out on his gross hypocrisy and double standard? Is it not written by a reporter?
““This bill is symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington — an
addiction to spending money we do not have. The United States Senate
should not be in the business of exploiting victims of natural disasters
to fund pork projects that further expand our debt,” he said following
the vote, according to Houston Chronicle.”
He seems nice…
(Bless his Cuban heart)
So kind and caring for other outside his state…
Just wow! Ted is truly what he claims to hate in politicians.
“Gee, Ted, we’d like to give you the money, but we’re the Federal government and we can’t do anything right (according to you). And, of course, we don’t want to make your state dependent on government dollars, because that would just make you all lazy. Plus, it would be welfare and that would remove your dignity.”
Oh, Rafael, you are such a tool. Shove it up your ass.
Hey, a grifter’s gonna grift.
These moochers need to shake it off and pull themselves up by their bootstraps instead of looking to the government for a hand out. It’s their own fault they lived in a place that had rain, so they need to man up and take personal responsibility for their problem instead using it as yet another excuse to suckle at the government teat.
I’d say it would be more appropriate to look at how crooked the state management of the federal funding has been.
It was Christie’s show all the way, and last I heard (it’s been a while, but it was this year) there are still people waiting for aid - years later.
But but but this is Texas, we already get one extra one back for every two we send the Feds and we surely deserve it being God fearing Christians more than those Liberals Nazi Commies…
Is “Cruz” a Spanish word for “Hypocrite?”

If only Cruzi-fictions were allowed.
I’m afraid DSWX is rightfully asking for the MSM reporters to call it out. I know that’s how I took it.
I do think it’s wonderful that TPM has called it out, but we here would be immediately dismissed as partisan and loony.
I just know it was something I thought about when this all was happening last weekend - the begging for Federal funds to help fix the damage and the immediate response of said reprehensibles because it wasn’t those elitist East Coasters that were asking for it. I lived in CT during the Sandy mess (now in Wisconsin). It’s still a mess over there and many local churches are sending youth groups as mission trips to help fix things and it’s been … how many years since Sandy hit?
