Discussion: Surveillance Video Appears To Show Rubio Staffer Punching Rand Paul Aide

Discussion for article #240709

Wow. What a dick. That is not a shove unless you call it shoving someone with your fist. I doubt it was much of a harmful punch, but it was clearly a punch nonetheless
and it looks to have come out of nowhere, unprovoked.

My 2 cents.
Oh, and more of this please.

I imagine the level of frustration among these staffers is going to get so high that there will be all out brawls in the future.

When will Obama denounce these ‘thugs’?

Why not? In this campaign season so far actions speak louder than words, and so far the fact-free coverage of these Republicans have us all looking at what they do, not what they say
because 10 out of 10 times what they say is complete bullshit.

Someone doesn’t know how to export from their DVR

What are you talking about? That maybe the clearest ultrasound I’ve ever seen.

EDIT to add that I do not approve of vertical video.

I wouldn’t call that a “punch”.

Juvenile antics. Yobs appears to have said something that caused Beeson to stop and turn back. I agree with the police chief’s assessment as Beeson’s hand appears to be open as would be the case if he pushed Yob on the side of the face. His weight doesn’t shift as would happen when throwing a punch. As the Donald might way, “Loser candidates with loser staffers.”

The proper response to this is not to call for the police, nor to call for someone to be fired. The proper response is to call for more popcorn.

I liked for the ultrasound comparison, but I disagree about vertical video. To show two standing people, it is the best format.

Yob’s wife plead to domestic violence against him in April. Hate to play blame the victim, but maybe he has a habit of saying stuff that antagonizes people.

me neither. I certainly hope the AG’s office has better things to do with their time than come to the rescue of this loser.

They will all be out of work in a couple of months

A couple of looser campaign workers for a couple of looser campaigns bitch slapping each other is news? This is going to be a really long election cycle.

Well, call it what YOU like, the law calls it battery. I just wish that MORE Rethuglicans would do that to each other. It would make the Democratic candidate’s campaign to the White House MUCH easier.

I was hoping for a hay maker or the old bolo punch. Disappointing.

People need to lose their jobs for this.

Oh, not because of the shoving. Big deal, people shove people sometimes. But if you’re a political operative working for either of these candidates at this stage of the game, and you’re getting emotionally invested to the point where you’re losing your temper, you’re just not qualified to do your job. One of these guys is being paid to pump up Rand Paul’s direct mail address database, and the other is gambling on the very long shot that two years from now he can put “flacked for the VP back in the day” on his rĂ©sumĂ©. Not worth fisticuffs under any circumstances.

Now, if it turns out that the fight was over something comparatively important, like a spilled drink or which song to play on the jukebox, forget I said anything.
