Iâm glad weâre finally going to have someone in the White House who is willing to look out for the wealthiest among us.
âThat $346 billion represents about $1,000 for every man, woman, and child in the United States. Every cent will go into the pockets of people making more than $200,000 per year,â Bagley wrote.
And I thought they all hated Obamacare because it came from Obama. I am so stupid - always follow the money with these guys.
âThe fact that it happens to give a lot of money to the rich is just how it goes.ââ
Wow, what a shock!
Shouldnât be too long into 2017 before they start seeing guillotines. And it wonât matter how many retired generals are in his cabinet.
Itâs all understandable. They voted for Trump because âthey were hurtingâ and felt left out. At a measly 200 K a year they were nobodies and now the billionaire sees them and feels their pain. They are saved. As for the coal miners. They should have âworked harderâ.
Brickbats! Now!
âRepealing the Affordable Care Act is a way to give wealthy people a fairly substantial tax cut without that necessarily being the largest headline,â
âYou have a new Congress form, and all indications are that the first major piece of legislation is a bill with a major tax increase on working class people and a tax cuts on wealthy people,â
Of course the Democrats will be screaming this, relentlessly, at the top of their lungs.
LOL
The taxes in question are known as the Medicare tax on higher income individuals and the net investment income tax.
It sounds like the Rs are setting up for declaring Medicare insolvent to justify their long-desired privatization of same.
Yes they can defund it with a simple majority but they need Democrats to change the parts of the law like folks not being turned away for preconditions. Will Democrats hold together? As this will destroy the insurance market for everyone as prices skyrocket to cover the truly sick. That $350 billion will have to come from higher premiums (or stock holders).
Tierney, you posted great articles all through the election and youâre keeping up your streak during the post-election season. I hope this excellent piece gets lots of traction out there.
As always, the Rethuglicans are setting the terms of their demise as they steal under the cover of âlawââŚ
coming SOON!! new and improved ObamacareâŚ
known as RepubNOcare it will be even better because it includes extra credit tax cuts for the wealthiest among us⌠so they can continue to not pay their fair shareâŚ
I always assume it is that they are loath to spend any money helping those people.
Trumpâs promises arenât worth shit.
For all the talk about the country being divided (urban v rural, white v nonwhite, Christian v nonchristian, sane v those in some other reality, etc) the real division is working class v investor class. Someone needs to frame this divide very clearly going forward because people seem to not get it, and thus vote for politicians who donât represent their best interest.
You could interview the fricking idiots that voted Trump into office and theyâd tell you losing their insurance was a small price to pay to keep Clinton out of the White House. Hell, it could be one of their kids Trump gunned down on Fifth Avenue and theyâd put on their âKeep America Greatâ hat and go down to his rally. How in the hell Democrats are supposed to appeal to people that donât give a shit about their own interests and well being is a mystery.
Hey West VirginiaâŚSuck it!
I really do expect the Republicans to do their worst. Theyâll do a full repeal and consequences be damned. Their base likes the idea of sticking it to the âtakersâ. Republicans have benefited and gotten away with all of their destructive behavior so far. Why stop now? It is going to be a VERY long four years (I hope only four).
Another GOP-led stall for America on the world stage, unless the GOP blows up big chunks of the world stage, of courseâŚ
