Discussion: State Dept. To Release More Clinton Emails But Falls Short Of Court-Ordered Goal

Discussion for article #244226

I guess hell will freeze over, before we see Condoleezza Rice or Colin Powell’s private emails then.

Contempt of Court! Lock them all up!

Oh, wait, how would we get the emails then?

Of course there was this two weeks ago:

Hillary Clinton Faces Call for New Ethics Investigation After Son-in-Law Asked for a Business Favor

Rich people helping rich people.

I’m an attorney with significant public records litigation experience, and I can confidently state that this is very very normal in FOIA litigation for agencies to take longer producing documents than they are supposed to take. I had a FOIA request with CDC take years to be fulfilled, for example. Just an FYI in case people need to disarm the conspiracy talking points that I am sure are flaring up in conservative media

Can we put some extra manpower on this and just finish it, so we don’t have it be a news story every two months?

I’m never going to be satisfied until we get to see her grocery lists —

Shame on you Darcy. An investigation by a conservative watch group trying to find anything on her??? I am sure if there was something to it, we would have heard by now considering the press love a new clinton scandal.

I’m sure the smoking gun will be in the latest email release or certainly in the next. Any day now…

It was a recent AP story from one of her e-mails but came to the media’s attention because it involved her son-in-law looking for a favor for a client of his when he worked at GS, and because of a suit brought (about 6 months ago) by an environmental group The Center for Biological Diversity, having to do with deep water mineral mining in the U.S. territorial waters of the Pacific Ocean against Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and the NOAA.

What I referenced is the latest news on this story. It is real.

So I guess a Florida congressman named (Marco Rubio) running for president who helped his ex con brother a realestate license is just him being a good congessman helping a voter.

So she was not in a govt job at the time. Whats the problem?

She was SoS until 2013. She put in the request in 2012 - according to the suit.

It was his brother-in-law not his brother. He helped him get a RE license. Not exactly a get out of jail free card, access to a pile of money, or a cushy government job. His motivations I’m not sure of anymore than I am of Clinton’s motivations but there is a vast difference between a referral for a RE license and access to the possibility of billions $$$ in deep water mining.

Maybe you should think it through.

YAWN. No one cares about this any longer. The main finding on these was that she was disturbed that the press was trying to claim she didn’t have access to the WH and that she and Obama weren’t on the same page. She asked for figures to dispute that. BANAL.

And Rubio helping out his drug kingpin ex-felon brother in law, the original of “Scarface”? The one who had $15 million dollars in drug profits that were never found or recovered? Did Rubio accept campaign contributions from him, one has to ask.

“YAWN. No one cares about this any longer.”

It just came ot two weeks ago. You’re obviously confusing it with another story.

“his drug kingpin ex-felon brother in law,”

LOL! You think 15 million in the '80’s in Miami cartel money made you a kingpin? Hillary’s money favors over the years from WS and big business make this brother-in-law look like a college student selling nickle bags of weed. But she has a D after her name so it’s all good.

So the ex felon b-in-law not being a “drug kingpin” makes it all OK? Interesting argument.

Not sure what the conservatives hope to gain.
