Discussion for article #246197
…and Obama’s approval rating is above water for the first time in years.
Targeted polling anyone?
Republicans want to run against a socialist so badly they can’t hold back their salivating. Faux News doesn’t poll, they make it up as they go along.
Q26. Whoever is elected president will be on television constantly for at least four years. Thinking about ALL of the candidates currently running for president, which ONE would you MOST DREAD watching on television for four years?
Make your guess, then go see the poll, and check if your guess is correct or not.
OMG, those questions at the end. Laughable in their nakedness.
This is Huff Post clickability. Congrats TPM.
This is not particularly surprising, coming from Fox: a Sanders nomination is their only hope. Hillary has plenty of flaws, but she is electable and Sanders simply isn’t, even against Cruz, Rubio or Trump.
Just curious, do you think the HIllary camp right now is dismissing this poll because “everyone” knows that the Fox/WSJ poll is “made up as they go along”?
Trump seems to be in that camp already calling it a “hit job”, of his poll numbers by Fox/WSJ of course, not hers.
Fox News? Really?
I don’t trust Faux News any further than I could throw Rupert Murdoch (not sure how far that is, but more than willing to perform the experiment should the opportunity arise), but even without the Faux News poll there does appear to be a pretty clear trend in Bernie’s direction in most of the recent national polls. While I doubt Bernie has actually pulled ahead , it does look to me like it could be narrowing to a single-digit race. .
Another perspective from Josh today…
I tend to agree with TPM Reader BY. I like Bernie and his idealistic platform. However I still ache at the memory of George McGovern in 1972.
If Bernie is the nominee then welcome Cruz, the 'Murican Mussolini but without all the charm as our next POTUS.
The ol’ " slight of hand " network —
The problem with Clinton is she’s just not electable. She’d be cut to pieces in a general election. I know a lot of people have a sentimental place for her, but we’ve got to be realistic.
This is also hysterical. ® respondents were asked about the R candidates.
Q27. Which Republican presidential candidate do you think is the BEST role model for children today?
Nor is Sanders.
So, what’s your solution?
I’m unable to snark this.
My guess is the Clinton campaign is looking at their own internal polling, and is seeing the same trend that pretty much all the pollsters are showing, which is movement in Bernie’s direction. But they are also looking at their polling, and the public polling, from South Carolina, where they’re continuing to dominate with what looks to be a 20-30 point lead (and I just read that Rep. Jim Clyburn is going to endorse Hillary tomorrow, which should help deal that deal).
So I think they’re probably concerned, but far from panicking. If Bernie wins in Nevada, and Hillary’s leads in SC and/or Super Tuesday states start to slip, then I think Team Clinton will start to get very concerned, and may have to reassess whether they have deeper strategic and vision/message problems.
I read that entry earlier today. Really want to see the data mentioned and want to know how those studies were conducted. Sounds like the studies were done with a reasonably controlled experimental design. If that is the case, it should be taken as highly alarming.
Wow. Questions 2, 10, 30-34, 35, 37, 38.
What a pile of junk.
Agreed.
I live in Oregon now and I think that Sanders might be able to carry here. But between here and the east coast the caliber of smear & fear that the GOTP will wage will be devastating for him.
With the Supreme Court at stake it’s time for progressives to be become pragmatic and leave the fell good shit behind.
I’m voting for Sanders, of course. He’s more realistic!
