And yet, the voters of Maine reelected him. Yes, they have split elections that he’s only won through pluralities but, nevertheless, can’t the people of Maine get their shit together enough to defeat him?

When the Democrats saw that an Independent, and former Republican was going to run…again…they knew they could run a candidate or back that person. They chose to run a candidate.

Huge mistake. The result could not have been worse than keeping this idiot.

what is it with states that have had republicon gov’s and those very gov’s tend to screw those citizens over and cause all kinda of chaos yet time and time again they re-elect these corrupt and clueless ideological clowns…

The guy looks totally unhinged in every picture I’ve ever seen of him and the articles on him don’t make him look much better. What is it that Maine sees in this guy? He’s one of the dumbest goober governors in the country.

You know… this sort of threat is exactly what got Rick Perry arrested when he threatened to defund the public accountability office if they didn’t fire the democratic prosecutor. That is illegal to do in Texas. We impeached a former governor for doing it to the University of Texas. Maine might want to think about a similar law.

I was thinking the same thing - they should impeach this guy. Dems. control the House, so they would, in theory, have the votes to impeach. But, R’s control the Senate - 20-15 - and you need 2/3 to convict. So, unless there is mass outrage at what he is doing, I don’t see this being a viable path (unfortunately).

Note to the guv; If you end up in court, do not even consider taking the stand in your own defense.

Because Cutler and his ego are totally blameless in this. Never-mind that he came in third, it is all the Democrats fault for running a candidate.

Edit: If the Democrat had come in third there would be room to argue that he should have bowed out in favor of the independent. But he didn’t he came in second, as such any criticism for acting as a spoiler should be directed at the actual third place spoiler candidate.

And if Good Will-Hinckley Chairman Jack Moore replaces Eves, Moore and his school should be sued. He really should think twice about giving in to blackmail.

LePage doubles down. Saying of Eves–

“To provide half-a-million dollars in taxpayer funding to a charter school that would be headed by Maine’s most vehement anti-charter-school politician is not only the height of hypocrisy, it is absolutely unacceptable.”

Dude, stop digging, put the shovel down, and climb out of the hole.

“He’s one of the dumbest goober governors in the country.”

Yup. And he hates art. About 4-5 yrs ago he ordered the following:

WASHINGTON – Governor Paul LePage (R-Maine) has sparked a fresh battle with the state’s union community, ordering a mural at the Department of Labor (DOL) taken down on the grounds that the image is biased against business owners.

On Tuesday, Maine DOL Acting Commissioner Laura Boyett sent out an e-mail saying that after some complaints from businesses, the mural would be removed. Additionally, the state would be renaming eight conference rooms, many of which commemorate former labor leaders and one honoring the first female U.S. Cabinet secretary.
