Discussion: Son Of Roy Moore Arrested In Alabama On 3rd-Degree Criminal Trespass Charge

If daddy’s gonna be a senator, we got to tie up some of these loose ends. Don’t want folks getting wrong ideas about his kin.

What are the statistics on these prominent Bible-thumpers having kids who are always in trouble? Does seem to go hand in hand. The Pugilistic Palins come to mind.

I pray to God Moore makes it to the Senate so he can embarrass the Repulsives, but quite frankly, his son shooting deer, over bait, on someone else’s land, without permission is a non-story.

Forget the hunting thing… the story says he was arrested for drugs but … while his father was a state supreme court justice… the charges were dropped? Is there a story there?

Dropped after he entered a pre-trial diversion program. Depending on the offense and his age at the time, not uncommon.

I think he’s OK as long as he wasn’t baiting the deer with crystal meth.

Of course to Moore’s base, his son’s illegal hunting is probably a plus, not a minus. The story doesn’t say where he was hunting “without permission” but if it was public land, definitely a plus from their point of view. If it was a wildlife sanctuary, that’s a double-plus.

Hunting without permission and hunting over bait. That means his trespass wasn’t accidental. He deliberately staked out bait on land he didn’t own. What a scofflaw. Just like his daddy.

That is what happens when somebody completes a diversion program. I am all in favor of diversion programs if they are available to young people of all races.

Weed and Xanax in the glove compartment. Felony charge. Yet he skated. Nice to have a father who’s the Chief Justice. Is this the kind of accountability you talk about, Judge Moore?

I dunno; where I come from breaking the law is worth maybe a shoulder shrug, but poaching is sin.

Hunting both out of season and on someone else’s land would be pretty much unforgivable. It would not reflect well on the family’s values, to put it mildly.

Caleb is a little more colorful than the article suggests:

He’s had seven arrests in less than four years, including DUI arrests in both Florida and Alabama, and three drug-related arrests in Pike, Baldwin, and St. Clair counties in Alabama. I don’t actually blame the boy, since it seems like he’s wrestling with something. I do find it curious, however, that not a single one of those arrests has led to his incarceration. Has he received the same treatment as the average citizen in Alabama?

Gee, that born-again Christian upbringing really makes a difference, doesn’t it?
At least Saint Roy’s spawn didn’t grow up to be some kneeling football player disrespecting the troops and the flag and the national anthem!
