Discussion: Son Of Roy Moore Arrested In Alabama On 3rd-Degree Criminal Trespass Charge

Pretty transparent redneck vote bait.

Here too. Hunters don’t like poachers. And nobody likes someone hunting on their land or near their stand. I don’t know if the issue will have legs, but it’s not a minor offense.

Beat me to it. Plus Daddy is a Republican.

Going to assume the acorn didn’t fall far from the tree. Anyone ever surprised by these GOP law and order types breaking the law?

He’s 27. Young, yes, but not a boy.

He is a 27 y.o. man - two years ago, to be generous, he was at least 24 y.o. when he got to go to a drug diversion program. The following is from the Alabama DMV (the bolding at end is mine, but I think if your circumstances are your daddy is a judge, you skate if you have had 7 DUI arrests in 4 years):

Criminal Penalties in Alabama
The criminal penalties you may face for a DUI are in addition to any penalties by the Department of Public Safety. Criminal pemalties are as follows:
For a 1st offense of a DUI, you may receive:
Up to 1 year in jail.
A fine of $500 to $2,000, plus a charge of $100 for the Impaired Drivers Trust Fund…
For a 2nd offense, you may face:
48 hours to 1 year in jail (required to serve the minimum) OR minimum of 20 days community service.
A fine of $1,000 to $5,000, plus a $100 fee for the Impaired Drivers Trust Fund.
For a 3rd offense of a DUI within 5 years, you may face:
60 days to 1 year in jail (required to serve the minimum)
A fine of $2,000 to $10,000, plus $100 for the Impaired Drivers Trust Fund.
For a 4th offense or subsequent offenses within 5 years, you may face:
Prison time of 1 to 10 years.
A fine of $4,000 to $10,000.
> Your penalties may vary depending on the circumstances and severity of your DUI.
(on edit - 7 arrests in 4 years not just for DUI, but also for drug charges)

I think he needs to go work in the chicken plant rehab program.

Good research. If this guy skates this much he should join a hockey team! Seriously, you have to wonder about his father’s possible intervention and if this is going to become a campaign issue. At this point, it’s a public safety and equal-justice matter, and not just the family’s dirty laundry. It also makes it look like Moore should be attending to his own family before lecturing other people about how to run their families.

Maybe Moore needs to put a monument of the 10 Commandments in every room in his house instead of bothering the public? Or tattoo it onto the inside of his son’s eyelids?

There is nothing in the Ten Commandments about drug use, so I guess he should get off on that. Coveting your neighbor’s game is probably an issue, though. Maybe God will give a sign to daddy to spare his son.

Sanctimonious and righteous at the pulpit or behind the bench. The Great Santini when he’s home.

THIS is the fault of gub’mint schools leading our children in a Godless direction. If not for the Godly example of Judge Moore, this poor boy would be much, much worse off.

I feed my deer and don’t shoot them. One of the guys at the feed store scoffed when I said I didn’t shoot them. I looked him straight in the eye and said, “I don’t shoot deer but I’d have no problem killing a poacher.” He said, Yes, ma’am.

If your dad was Roy Moore, you’d be screwed up too.

Roy, I don’t mean this badly, but your kid is a repeat drunk driver, repeat drug user, poaching, trespassing… and now you want to force your “ten commandments” down everybody’s throat? Roy, just think about it for a minute. How effective was your leadership with your own family? The fruit of your own loin? Seriously. Are you really God’s vessel for instruction and inspiration? Or are you consumed with the pursuit of the false gods of self-aggrandizement and hollow fame? Go spend time with your son, Roy. Washington doesn’t need another sanctimonious bell-ringer.

White privilege Alabama style - rural South style - the voters might not care about the crime - could view it as a reaction to “over regulation” of hunting.

And what the Huckabee lad did to that poor dog–

Nope, this isn’t regulation if it’s poaching on someone’s private land. I don’t know Alabama, but there are places in this world where this guy might as well have just walked into his house and screwed his wife.
