Discussion: Sikh Man Brutally Assaulted In Hate Crime On Eve Of 9/11 Anniversary

True, and I’ve always had a certain affinity for the name Plaxico. LOL
Two of my favorite Key & Peele skits are the ones with the black substitute teacher doing roll call at a white school and, of course, the East vs. West Bowl where they actually throw in real players.

A lot of the time the La or Da or Sha is because the parents combined two names. So, JaMichael’s mom might be named Janice and his dad is Michael, so it becomes JaMichael. After the 60’s and 70’s when black folks were trying to give their kids African names, somehow that morphed into just making up names. SMDH

Actually, having lived in other countries I can guarantee you that the Americans level of ignorance is average at best.

What is exceptional among at least compared to developed countries,is the willingness to act violently and righteously on those ignorant beliefs.

I was in college in 1979 as well and remember the Iranian students protesting the take over.

The white trash thug seems to have the who’s the terrorist question all backasswards. People who beat up other people for the way they look, talk, dress–these are the terrorists. Of COURSE this was a hate crime and the perp should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I think the senseless anger and rage displayed in this attack must be what a lot of conservative whites see when they look at Black Lives Matter, etc.

But, there was no injustice fueling this hateful attack, no frustration born of personal experience, no fear that failure to act could mean the death of someone they know.

I can understand why someone would fear and detest BLM if they thought it was just organized rage, but I can’t understand how they could think that.

I don’t have very many fantasies…but one is Clarence Thomas arriving at The Rock on a Capital Murder rap (no parole)…

At an all-white (except for two) prison.

With Ben Carson in a separate wing (also on a Felony Rap)

We lead the world in many things, but none so much as our belief that we’re #1 in everything. If we don’t lead the world in ignorance, however, we’re not trying hard enough.

USA! USA! USA!

No shortage of bullies and stupid people in America.

Benjamin Franklin: “We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.”
The assailant has been working overtime.
$20 bucks says he listens exclusively to Mike Savage/Rush Limbaugh/Glen Beck on the radio and watches NOTHING but FOX News (from the bar, at 2 PM, alone, as usual.)

Yes, but sadly, not all of them are armed. That’s why the NRA is working tirelessly on the matter.

Rump has exacerbated it but this type of hate has been around for a long long time. People like this clown are ignorant and proud of it.

Oh, but whatever we do, we must not draw connections between the abrupt spike in racist violence and the open embrace of racist white nationalist rhetoric by Republican leaders and presidential candidates.

Javier Palomarez’ mealy-mouthed on-air pronouncement of having talked with a “different, more gentlemanly Donald Trump” reminded me of the historian Aaron Jastrow (in his pre-Holocaust days) in Herman Wouk’s brilliant novels “The Winds of War” and “War and Remembrance”.

Most of the stupid bullies are armed, just not this one apparently. I did not mention the crazy and the criminals or worse the crazy criminals. It is for the latter that the NRA leadership wants to keep the gun markets open.

If you recall, the former NRA lawyer gone whistleblower, the late Bob Ricker, once said on NPR that the gunmakers knew that gun sales to dangerous people and criminals account for 25% of all sales/revenues, and this is why they opposed real laws and a strong ATF to enforce tough laws against corrupt dealers who convey to those they know they should not. He said this back in 2004 before Congress passed the law to single out the gun industry for immunity from lawsuits.
