Since when do you send a SWAT team to confront a single person armed even with a rifle or shotgun?

The man was arrested but was not charged, the Herald reported.

WWJD? Well, if he caught you sleeping in a church with some food and wine in your possession he'd have you arrested I guess. I know it's true because the police are doing God's work in protecting us all from danger. They're heros.

Maslow’s Hammer.

Since when did Massive Disproportionate Response become standard operating procedure for, apparently, all U.S. law enforcement?

Unlike some recent cases, the police did NOT shoot him the moment they saw him. I wonder what his race is?

Yes. But when do city councils looking at budgets start putting pressure on police departments to stop doing shit like this because of the obvious waste of manpower and material. Fillin’ up the chopper isn’t quite the same thing as filling up a cruiser.

Very lucky he was asleep. Otherwise . . . . . . well, you know.

He’s alive . It wasn’t Tea or Skittles in the bag.

Do the math.

No doubt part of a terrorist “sleeper cell”.

The man was in a church, and was very likely dark skinned. That alone justifies at least a helicopter and a swat team.

It became the standard response when the average policeman became terrified by the sight of dark skinned people.

They have the toys. They want to use them.

“9/11 Changed Everything.” Remember?

One thing for sure: it made us a nation of hypervigilant wusses.
