Well, I mean, sure, like, I saw them, but I didn’t meet them.
I met him in my capacity as a private citizen and homeowner. We discussed neighborhood issues, like people not picking up after their dogs.
The Kremlin on the Potomac.
Well what do you know? Jeffie-boy told a little fib. Bless his heart.
Best start to my day in weeks!
Bye bye Sessions…we can no longer trust you.
Not only did Sessions meet with the Russians, he also lied about it in his confirmation hearing.
How can he still not recuse himself from the investigations?
Slightly OT - Obama’s people knew these nincompoops would try to hush it up, so they made sure information was recorded, reports classified with the lowest security settings, and widely distributed.
All The Traitorous Men.
would make a good title of a movie.
except it is real! and unfolding.
the circle is closing in and one point i see as meaningful is the confident calling on sessions to resign so quickly…
could it be much more of this growing scandal is known than is being made public?
After years of avoiding paying for his crimes,
Jeff’s luck eventually ran out.
No longer? You mean you trusted him till now?
Russian intelligence agents have clearly infiltrated the highest levels of American government and the Republican party at the national and state levels. They have rigged the 2016 election.
I don’t think the Democrats should ask for Sessions’ resignation. They should simply charge him with perjury and then have him disbarred if he has a law license. Who has standing to bring charges?
I wonder whether Neil Gorsuch was also selected by Russian intelligence and Putin for the Supreme Court.
Too bad it doesn’t involve sex. Well, yet, anyway.
Personally, I think Comey is a double-agent.
The repubs refused to let Warren speak at his confirmation. Now he’s on track to be the shortest tenured AG.
Trump admin is setting records… for the shortest tenures…
OK, now the Attorney General may have committed treason. It would appear to be time to recognize that the Asshole-elect, and his band of merry traitors, are pawns of Russia and Putin.
Looks like we need some Old West justice…some short ropes and a tall tree. Sad.
Lying under oath is certainly an impeachable offense. Impeachment originates in the House. What is the procedure to initiate it? Can any member bring it up and force a vote? Pelosi already called for his resignation. If he doesn’t, then what? Can the Dems, at least, make hay and force the GOP into some uncomfortable votes?
“When I met the Russian Ambassador at the 2016 Republican National Convention at which Donald J. Trump - for whom I was an adviser, surrogate, and one of his earliest supporters - was nominated for President of the United States, and at which everyone was discussing the campaign, the election, the possibility of building an administration, and at which time there was some early talk about Russian connections to Trump - well, we didn’t talk about Trump or any of those things. And that meeting in my office in September - well, I just can’t remember what we talked about … oh, but I do remember that we definitely did not talk about Trump or the campaign or anything close to that. And that’s why I lied under oath in my testimony and in my answers to written questions during my confirmation.”
Yeah, sure, got it.
Worth noting: It’s being said that it was well-known within the IC that Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak was the recruiter for the FSB in DC.
Obama also knew about it before the election, but was afraid to make it public for fear of appearing to politicize the intelligence and because he was supremely confident that Hillary would win.
Another example of Obama’s cowardice in the face of Republicans and horrible political judgment.
“The reason: Clintonites feel that if Obama had come out early and forcefully with evidence of Russian interference in the campaign, and perhaps quicker sanctions, she might be president today. His caution, they argue, allowed the public to have a foggy sense of clear, calculated, consistent Russian meddling in the campaign. We can’t stress enough how upset some Democrats are. It’s testing relationships between Clinton and Obama loyalists. It’s making efforts to form a new Trump opposition coalition harder.”
Poor @uk_observer will have so much work to do today to spin this. Let me help . . .
Sessions talked to all sorts of foreign officials as chairman of the Senate ASC. Talking to the Ruskie just didn’t stand out to him. Sure, he was asked a direct question, but the question left just the slightest amount of wiggle room. Sure, it was a bit of a stretch, but Sessions is old and it didn’t occur to him that he should have given a more complete answer. Sure.
