“We don’t have time to answer questions about Trump - we’re too busy doing our jobs.” Isn’t that precious? It’s actually amazing they can say that with a straight face.
It certainly is. It inspires me to respond with, “Well bless your heart.”
You built the Party that made Drumpf possible. Can’t run away now.
Doing their jobs? Did I miss the news about the Garland hearing?
Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), who praised Trump’s foreign policy speech a couple of weeks ago, took a pregnant pause before answering whether he was ready to support and endorse his nominee.
“We have always planned to support the nominee,” Corker said. When asked if he planned to meet with Trump, Corker said “I don’t know … we’re busy doing our job.”
…we’re busy doing our job. hahahgahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahah
He’s yours, dudes. Man up and deal with it. You created this monster. You own him.
Or anything else?
Does he mean like holding Supreme Court nominee hearings?
Blunt is getting a little testy…and blunt? He’s already in a very tight Senate race and can’t afford to be the butt of too many more Trump jokes.
He’s caught between being called a Trump cheerleader and being condemned for insulting the Fuhrer somehow. Meanwhile, even evangelicals in MO can’t understand why The Donald won’t stand by their crusade to ban transgenders from public restrooms.
It’s gotten difficult for conservative to say they are conservatives to even other conservatives. The Donald changes the definition of what that means…from day to day. Poor babies. They are all feeling vulnerable and abused? Now they know how it feels to be gay, Hispanic or black in St. Reagan’s America.
While Democrats are finally proudly speaking up for what they believe…and offering condolences to their conservative neighbors. Independents are patting themselves on the back for deserting the party before it became fashionable.
These are weird times in the Heartland. Where could Blunt hide even if he tried? And those bathrooms. Who will defend our bathrooms if Trump won’t?
Republicans are BIG on requesting accountability and transparency from others, but not so much on themselves…
Answering questions about YOUR nominee, the guy you support, is the LEAST you can do!!
But it’s so demeaning.
This Senate is on track to be the least productive in 60 years.
Under the Republican-controlled Senate, Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, had scheduled 149 days in session for this year, but four-day workweeks have meant the Senate may only work 124 days.
Avoiding Trump like the Zika virus or Ted Cruz, is he?
I’m pretty sure “the unease of senators is palatable as they meditate…” should read “palpable”.
…“palatable” works too though.
Not to work. Be present for 124 days to pick up their bribes from K Street lobbyists.
Not to work, but to give the appearance of working by talking into the nearest mic or showing up on Sunday morning gas bag fests and doing more talking about the work they’re (not) doing…
@jam_econo Some of the writers needs to be given literacy tests before hitting their keyboards.
I can’t blame him. I wouldn’t want to be at the blunt end of such jokes either.
If Trump gave Blunt some money Blunt would praise him to the heavens. Roy Boy has gotta go!
Blunt: “We need more honor flights. I just have to be seen welcoming WWII vets and all will be well.”
