Every incumbent Republican who has neither resigned nor announced retirement, supports The Rump by their very presence in Washington. Every Republican challenger supports the Rump by seeking to win their very presence in Washington. Every good reporter should feel uplifted by their annoyance at the question.

When asked if he planned to meet with Trump, Corker said
“I don’t know … we’re busy doing our job-- which is actually not doing our job.”

Yeah, that was the money quote-- as I read between Bob Corker’s lines.

I said it would come to this when McConnell announced the plan to blockade Obama’s nomination before Scalia’s body was cold: The Republican Senate can’t run away from Trump when they are playing politics with the Supreme Court to let Trump chose Scalia’s replacement.

Thanks to McConnell, the Republican party owns Trump.

Incoming Senate Majority Leader Elizabeth Warren should have those hearings fast-tracked about eight months from now. Perhaps not, but EW would (also) definitely make an excellent Majority Whip.

Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), who praised Trump’s foreign policy speech a couple of weeks ago, took a pregnant pause before answering whether he was ready to support and endorse his nominee.

“We have always planned to support the nominee,” Corker said. When asked if he planned to meet with Trump, Corker said “I don’t know … we’re busy doing our job.”

Thought that republicons didn’t believe in abortion and were refusing to do their job. s/I’m so confused s/
