Discussion: Schumer On Possibility Of Working With Trump On ACA: 'It's Not Me, It's Him'

Don’t make it so complicated.

Just two words…Hastert rule.

Get rid of that, then we can talk because it’s disenfranchises almost half the country from representation in the House.

First off, Chuck, he didn’t say “implode.” To demonstrate his undying compassion he used the word “explode.”

Secondly, Don’t give an inch. In fact, do everything in your power to facilitate more headlines like this.

Thank you.

People blame the President when there are problems not the congressional minority. That’s just simple fact If Donnie doesn’t like that, he shouldn’t have taken the job.

“it doesn’t sound like you are ready to be a real partner there”

really Stephanopolus? you been paying ANY attention since July 2015? Trump is an asshole, this is the way assholes get treated a lot of times,

“It doesn’t sound like you’re ready to be a real partner there,” George Stephanopoulos said.

{:facepalm:}

No he doesn’t want to be a partner with taking healthcare away from 26 million people.

The GOP fools and obstructionist a-holes have been exposed for the incompetent, impotent, disingenuous frauds that they are. They’ve never had an original idea, never even admitted that the US has a massive problem with providing health care to its citizens, and have solely done the bidding of Big Pharma, Big Insurance and Big Hospitals (HCA, et al). The GOP has nowhere to hide; it could have submitted its own plan decades ago, but nary a word. The glaring truth is, the GOP does not care about average citizens; it cares about its corporate masters and tax cuts for the 1%. So, America, time for single payer, or at the very least Medicare for all (or a public option).

For the short time Rump’s been in the WH, he’s met with Rethug governors numerous times. I’m not sure if he’s met with Dem governors at all and even if he did, what would he say? “I’m POTUS and you’re not”? So, who’s not ready to be a partner here?

EDIT TO ADD: WTF is Steffi talking about when the Rethugs have a clear majority? Why would the Rethugs even need the Dems to be a “real partner”???

Folks, the man is a joy to watch. First, go over the past 60 days. Schumer has had a front row seat. IMO He knows that no Republican can be counted upon to live up to any deal that he or she makes. So now it’s the position on repeal, but if that changes there will be something else that will cause them to welch. OTOH, looks like the GOP is going down for the third time, and between now and November 2018 we can pelt them with anvils. So more in sorrow than in anger, of course, we’re going to cast them in the role of a rented mule… And maintain Senatorial decorum doing so.

Munt also sent out a “Thanks you for…” tweet yesterday to thank the hundreds who showed up yesterday to rally in his support.

“Thanks you for all of the Trump Rallies today. Amazing support. We will all MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

There were hundreds? I didn’t realize. I thought there were dozens from the looks of some of the pics.

We would be better off without CBS, NBC, ABC, TV personalities pretending to be serious reporters

Stephanopoulos isn’t an idiot or a Trump stooge. He was willing to play one to get the soundbite. Give him credit for getting Schumer to come back with a short sentence with short words in it. Unusual for him.

Right now, it’s not a matter of negotiating with Trump, it a matter of negotiating with the 15 or so most conservative members of the House Freedom Caucus who are apparently in charge of the Republican Party. Since that negotiation would come down to what flavor of Kool-Aid we get to drink, I don’t see much point to it.

Add all together, nationwide, and you had a couple hundred. I’ll be generous and call that hundreds.

“It’s not me, it’s him."

Donald’s just not that into America.

He wants to date other countries.

But he promises to call us sometime.

Well, he can tell from his bankbook that they put out.

Exactly. No.Helping.Hand. Republicans will not ‘come around’. Like that Spider fable thing.

But Chuckie’s been pretty good lately. I gotta stop trashing him.

Dana Bash was a blatant GOP apologist today . . . maybe CNN is trying to make up for some more honest commentary offered recently by Jake Tapper.
