But he told the nation that he “makes the best deals.” Just another Trump lie. Can we change the channel, please? I’ve seen this show too many times now.
Ok…I like this. “He couldn’t take yes for an answer”. Thats a nice, neat, clean jab. It sticks in the memory and its unambiguous and unapologetic. That’s good politics.
Schumer needs to enlist Stormy Daniels to negotiate with Naughty Don the Con. A few spankings might just do the trick.
Oddly no…we seem stuck on this channel. Which makes me wonder if I was hit by a bus and am now in hell. I richly deserve to the there, but couldn’t have imagined such a diabolical eternity. DAMN YOU SATAAAAN!!!
I’m no messaging expert, but I think Dems should get to Trump by attacking Kelly/Miller as behaving as unelected, co-Presidents.
Perhaps Schumer should publically call out Kelly, asking him what he needs to get a deal done? That would infuriate Trump to no end, and probably more towards Kelly than Schumer.
Schumer is apparently the most powerful man in the world. At least, that’s according to the hacks on Joy Reid’s show yesterday morning. Schumer was the answer to every question, whether it was trump’s lacking leadership or Yertle’s inability to corrall his entire caucus, Schumer, Schumer, Schumer, Schumer, Schumer.
Schumer is deftly playing to Trump’s ego and to one of the traits that DJT is most sensitive about, i.e. his ability to “make deals” and get things done. Smart move in his needling.
“It all really stems from the President, whose inability to
clinch a deal has created the Trump shutdown,”
Aaw … Give him a break Chuck …
He’ll figure it out —
Schumer’s the Democratic leader of the Senate. But if you want to hear somebody else being praised try Fox.
“It all really stems from the
Presidentscreaming, nappy-packing toddler in the Oval Office playpen, whose inability toclinch a dealform sentient thought has created the Trump shutdown,” Schumer said. “He can’ttake yes for an answerstop putting things in his mouth as he crawls around the carpet. That’s why we’reherebeing held hostage by a diapered lunatic with a urology fixation and a fetish to be spanked with the launch codes.”
Fixed.
Yes, finally.
Trump has the bully pulpit and came out with stronger messaging. I think the Democrats had a bad case of, “But this makes no sense – DACA is not illegal immigration, and Trump himself said he wants to save it, so Trump’s rhetoric just doesn’t make sense.” So they didn’t have a full court press prepared.
On this, Schumer is the de facto voice of the opposition, and he should be using that status. He thinks his job it to legislate and talk to his Republican counterparts in the Senate. Those are the old rules. The new job is to win the battle in the media, because that’s what will motivate compromise.
Trump likes shutdowns. Otherwise, why would so many of his businesses end up that way??
Sorry, Donnie. This one’s yours.
Note to Schumer: You can’t negotiate with terrorists and you can’t reason with racists.
Schumer on Sunday said his accord with Trump “was only tentative, no handshakes,”
Because a handshake deal with Trump is sacrosanct, unlike the written contracts in his real estate projects.
Who’s on first?
Eric Trump on Fox News: Shutdown is “good thing for us” politically.
Mick Mulvaney: Shutdown not "good for the administration."
Yes yes yes yes, mock the dotard in the most demeaning and emasculating language.
Donald tries and tries, but he just can’t finish. Sad!
No coffee for Trump. Coffee is for closers.
Cruel but apparently accurate.
Precisely! That Once Upon A Time Fairy Tale of Senate Comity is deader than Donny’s dork; McTurtle effectively killed it when he stole the Supreme Court from Obama. It’s a new paradigm now and Chuckles needs to buy himself a clue. It’s clear that Republican’ts couldn’t give two flying monkey shites about governing, so appealing to governing is a loser strategy. I’m on board with the brilliant suggestion to start referring to President Kelly. Hitting Trump is his fat, massive ego is the only way to move things in Washington these days…
