I think he meant to say “I honestly don’t see colored people.”
Maybe he should get his vision checked?
Yeah, we need another ignorant liar as President.
Well, you need to see color if you’re going to make any kind of change to address systemic bias and racism and their effects on all lives and society.
I think I have got to the point where color doesn’t mean anything to me–or not enough to make any difference–but I do notice if a person is black or white or Asian or Hispanic. And I try, often, to ask myself whether color does make a difference in my perceptions.
In other words, to state the obvious, When you say you don’t see color, you see color.
I Honestly Don’t See Color
Everyone sees color. How we respond is the issue. It’s just silly to say otherwise.
He also said repeatedly that he should be paying more taxes. So why hasn’t he?
Trade places with me, Howard and experience unfiltered anti-Semitism at work all day!
Can’t see color? Well there goes his career as an electrician.
Wasn’t this Colbert’s bit years ago? “I don’t see color. People tell me I’m white, and I believe them because…”

Can we pit Ralph Northam against Howard Schultz in a own-toe-shoot-off? These are two remarkable talents in making clueless, stupid, self-damaging statements, and I want to see them go head to head.
Schultz:“I honestly don’t see color.”
Spoken like someone who is fully immersed in privilege.
I bet he has some black friends too!
So good. He’s a good artifact of 70s education.
I remember being in a very white suburban 7th grade class and having my white, male Social Studies teacher ask us, his white class, if there were differences between white people and black people. And one girl said “White people can have naturally straight hair.” And the teacher blew up and said, “black people can have straight hair!!”
And he noted the early Supremes etc. and she replied, that “yes, with work and chemicals they CAN straighten their hair, but their hair is not straight.” There was nothing bigoted about her. She just was way into hair and that was a difference she knew about.
He was terrified that she might have identified an actual racial difference, which he could not abide. Scared, middle aged white guys arguing with well-informed 7th grade girls about hair is emblematic of the sophistication of racial understanding we were given.
EVERYONE IS THE SAME CUZ IF NOT, AGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!
Or a demolition specialist.
Trump said something similar and oh, look: tax breaks for the rich.
I hate it when white folk refuse to be honest about this. Yo white folks, we all know it’s there and so do the black folks. Acknowledge it in public and try to do things to help correct it instead of acting like it doesn’t exist. I had some dumb fuck on huffpost the other day say he and his friends didn’t do this and that maybe I need better folks to hang out with.
So, he’s for increased taxes on the wealthy just a few weeks after being roundly criticized for opposing increased taxes on the wealthy?
Ding! Ding! We’ve got a real winner here!
