Discussion for article #241580
MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough said Thursday that former vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) needed to "step up" and run for House speaker.
Well, it would put Ryan closer to the presidency than his running mate will ever be.
I dunno⌠is it just me? I think the general public has as much respect for Paul Ryan as the do for you JoeâŚ
whatâs the reason you arenât in Congress again?

Paul Ryan doesnât have a choice because âFreedumbâ!
Well, Moaninâ Ho, the Constitution you love to wave about (but obviously have never read) allows all of us the right to say âno.â
âFreedom Caucusâ indeed.
Scarborough actually IS dumb enough to think that Paul Ryan could run a flea circus! Wow, being a Republican these days really does mean being dumber than a box of rocks, doesnât it!
Ugg must fling jagged stone at Joe. Ugg have no choice.
DEVO were onto something, werenât they?
Joe, Nobody is FORCED to be Speaker. No choice? Câmon and grow up.
Paul Ryan could win because everyone knows heâs a believer in nut job right policies, and they would trust his bargains in a way that they do not trust Borhnerâs because heâs such a solid guy.
The fact is that the differences in the Republican Party or minor. There are a few moderates left, but even the moderates believe the state owns a womanâs body, and even the moderates worship at the alter of lowering deficits and punishing the poor for being poor. There just isnât enough ideological room to justify the kind of infighting we are seeing.
We are seeing blind, stupid, rage.
Must send bag of jagged stones to Ugg. Gratis.
Olâ Zombie eyes and brain Ryan does have a consistent economic philosophy which all the Rethugs can rally behind.
And his long game includes a plan to destroy Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA. BbbbbuutttttâŚhis âdead eyesâ are sooooâ dreamy, so heâs a natural choice.
Please let them get the most Conservative Republican as Speaker and 2016 Presidential nominee and let them lose mightily once and for all so that they finally get it thru their square little head they are a minority.
Maybe then they will have compassion for others.
Scarborough, a former GOP member of Congress, insisted that Ryan had to run for the position on MSNBC's "MTP Daily."
Joe must think heâs still in there â Or maybe some habits die hard ??? â
No respect for another personâs right to choose for themselves â
If Paul Ryan doesnât want to be speaker than he should not be forced to be speaker.
Only this damned gaggle of Wingnut Bagger and Con Republicans could transform the prestigious position of Speaker of the House into a frackinâ hot potato that no sane person wants. As for Lyin Ryanâs daydreams about working with a Republican president, he must, if heâs at all realistic, look at the cabal of fools and knaves leading the race for his partyâs nomination and sigh in absolute despair. Moreover, his partyâs lunatic wing is dragging down all of its candidates and by election day 2016, Jack the Ripper could defeat any of the Bagger and Con scum they have put forward.
âAt this point ⌠Paul ⌠does not have the choice.â
What fatuous bullshit. Who does Scarfatuous imagine heâs impressing with this grandiose pronouncement?
Scarborough ⌠thought Ryan can cut deals and âstill have respect.â
And heâd lose ALL that supposed ârespectâ just as soon as he cut his first âdealâ.
Paul Ryan has NEVER cut ANY deal with the Dems.
Heâs never even done a budget. Sure, for years heâs been making oodles of money doing boodles of presentations inside and out of Congress that aim to fool stupid people into thinking that they were in fact something called âbudgetsâ and that Ryan is a numbers geek and a budget wiz, neither of which is remotely so.
Nothing Ryan has EVER presented or said or done supports that he IN ANY WAY understands the nature of debt in human society, or its relationship to money, and therefore what money is, or how the U.S. economy works, or how public spending relates to all that.
In short Ryan is, and has been for some substantial period of time, a FRAUD - and his reputation for budget competence, leave aside genius, an invention of certain powerful financial interests - mainly, private capital hedge funds, their owners and managers, to some extent Wall Street banksters, and otherwise particular interests within the Chamber of Commerce.
To the extent that any of this performance by Scarfatuous is at all ârealâ, I conjecture that all it could really just mean is that Ryan or someone high up in Ryanâs camp or among his highly-motivated financial owners, is trying to turn something like a rehab operation on Ryanâs Rep thru Scarfatuous, and the fatuous one, as usual, is just playing the part drawn for him.
After all, itâs not as if abusing his platform to favor the future power of the main congressional conduit and celebrity spokespresenter for financial interests is likely to go over badly on the NBC owner-manager floor.
