This is just so many levels of awesome. I’m assuming the Supremes will be taking “equal treatment” in to account for this.

My faith is real! Their mythology isn’t!

That myth has always puzzled me…Is the moral that we still have hope, or that hope is locked away from mankind? And why was it the only good thing in the box?

What these guys aren’t getting is that the SCOTUS ruling was only for Christian based groups. They thought they made the perfectly clear when they spelled out a few of the religious exemptions that don’t agree with.

Women aren’t closely held corporations, and thus can’t be people. I’m pretty sure the supremes will rules something along those lines. Or they’ll decide that the state’s compelling interest in forcing women to be given false information is too important to allow a religious exemption.

The Satanists turn out to be a very logical bunch, who understand what is going on around them

Because they know that their mythology is designed to get them what they want. Others don’t have that much self awareness.

I have read that to the Greeks, hope was bogus so it was a “well, thank the gods, at least hope didn’t get away” thing. If that’s true, I’d wonder whether a culture’s rating of “hope” is linked to whether its dominant religion says the afterlife is awesome or dismal.

I would be eating a bucket of popcorn but I’m just too giddy right now…

You will get to see how prescient William O. Douglas was when he said in his dissent in Yoder, that the Supreme Court would rule differently when a challenge to a law is brought by a religious group they don’t view favorably.

wait. which one are you? a “satanist” or a “christian”? 'cause from my perspective, they’re both silly.

Satanic Temple: Supreme Court has ruled that religious beliefs trump law.

Of course, the Hobby Lobby ruling – like all decisions in which the court’s GOP majority panders to the right – qualifies the term “religious belief” with the footnote, “non-Christians need not apply.”

I’m someone who has the sense to see that mythology is neat, but organized religion was designed to keep the masses under control.

Basically, “bend over and take it, it’s for your own good” or “bend over and take it, you’ll get your reward after you’re dead”.

The most impressive con man ever is the person who managed to actually peddle those ideas with a straight face.

The sad truth is that satanists have done more to uphold real religious liberty (including freedom from religion) than all the Christian denominations combined.

For the record, as an atheist, none of these folks who believe in the metaphysical are persuasive to me, including the satanists.
