Bernie supporters have some similarities with Tea partiers. Both are convinced that the status quo is not helping them. That our representatives are not working for us. There is one very very important difference though. Bernie’s agenda is supported by a majority of Americans.
You do know Kessler was outed as making most of that stuff up and fabricating most of his “sources” right? He’s a right wing hack.
Its not just a matter of being nice or not, its that he doesn’t work well with others.
Where´d you get that story from - Boy´s Life?
It´s too edgy for Readers´ Digest.
Oh, I kid. I´m sure that you college age socialist friends were humorless. Mine were swell, and we shared the ice cream ![]()
Yes, that’s a better characterization.
Pobrecito.
Honestly! The Facebook BernVictim friends of mine post EVERY anti-Hillary meme/gag ALL day long! Every day! They are specious and fact-free, and yet when I point out that they are silly, baseless ad hominem attacks, they of course ignore it, or find a new allegation to take its place.
I am going to hold a silent “I’m holding my nose and…” contest, so I can award that person a prize! I’ve already given away the prize for the first Jill Stein voter! I remind them all that you can’t call yourself a progressive if you won’t vote against regressive candidates. You just cannot.
And what exactly has this fantastic story got to do with Bernie?
All he has been trying to do throughout his life is to get people to focus on issues that affect them, and fight for them. All that most other politicians have been trying to do is deflect people from real issues. He has done this country a huge service by putting issues on the table. Most of the MSM still tries their best to ignore issues and keep focusing on trivialities. His hair, his lack of humor, socialism.
They have been going out to town on him especially since he won WI. I dont know how many of you read the actual NY daily interview. Most people simply buy into the MSM spin on how bad it was. The fact is Bernie did very well.
Sounds like what’s been going on here.
Oh dear.
I keep getting emails from Hillary too even though I never subscribed to any of her mailing list.
And Mickey Hirten, the guy @littlegirlblue is quoting, is the the same Mickey Hirten who reported in the Burlington News that Hillary Clinton was fond of making anti-semitic remarks.
When called on not having corroborated the claim, Hirten shrugged it off saying national news “is hard.” As editor, he also allowed unsupported claims of Howard Dean being a pedophile to stand.
Yeah, he’s someone we should really take at his word.
True, very true. I was trying to be kind. What I gather is that Sanders is basically a jerk with a “my way or the highway” mentality that makes it awful to work with him on anything. He’s one of those folks who is more interested in purity than getting anything accomplished. That’s why it’s so easy for him to sit back in the cheap seats lobbing spitballs at Clinton. Although they are total opposites ideologically, Sanders and Cruz are very much alike.
Several others, like Barney Frank and former Sanders aides, have said the exact same things.
As a long time resident of Vermont, I feel Bernie is more in tune with some basic stuff that Vermonters take for granted. The former editor of the Burlington press is just a person with a former job in a former type of media. As far as the next president goes: Fake persona or real persona, who’s going to take the money out of politics? That’s the question.
They all do that and although it technically is illegal, don’t expect the email deluge to stop any time soon.
Unfortunately, I doubt very much that sexism in our society is going to be significantly diminished until and unless we males who have created, and continue to perpetuate, the monster of often unconscious misogyny that continues to infect us, wake up, and begin to see it for the self-destructive force it truly is.
Women can continue to take advantage of opportunities to remind us that it still much more prominent and invidious than we want to admit, but until we realize that it is hurting us in ways that we find insupportable, we are unlikely to undertake the kind of soul-searching and rehabilitation that will help us to begin to counter our implicit acceptance of the self-socialization that has made us such an enemy of the women we profess to value so much.
Not going to happen in what little life-span I have remaining, but it’s well worth doing what we can towards preparing a more enlightened way for generations to come.
This is so typical of the way media is shaped. Get someone to say something awful, and ignore their history until the media cycle has changed. It’s the whole fake pundit thing.
Well, it sure as hell won’t be Sanders because he’d spend all his time and political capital trying to make the perfect the enemy of the good. In the meantime, he’d piss off so many in his own party that he wouldn’t be able to get anything passed in a Democratically controlled Congress, something he wouldn’t even get because he’s unlikely to have any coattails.
Clinton’s life and career has been under a microscope intensely since at least 1992. There’s nothing we haven’t been told about her whether as part of a couple or on her own, and there has been a whole raft of lies about them both. Bernie on the other hand has a much lower profile, and we are just now getting to see what makes him tick. His life and career is only now being scrutinized, and in the opinion of Hirten, who covered him for all those years, and it is only his opinion, Bernie is lacking in what might be called social skills. Notice I didn’t say “let’s slavishly fall in line after Mickey Hirten”, but instead I offered for all to read one man’s opinion of someone he knew longer than any of us have.
