Discussion: Sanders Disavows Surrogate's 'Corporate Democratic Whores' Remark (VIDEO)

I think that is the choice Bernie and Hillary are giving us, but it is probably a false choice. I don’t know why you can’t do both. Hillary is in the best position to do both but she has shown zero interest in swinging for the fences. I want her to be inspirational, and she either can’t or won’t. Instead we have this “achievable” crap, which is really, let’s hunker down together because change is hard.

I’ve had a number of white men tell me Hillary would probably be a good president, but after having a black guy, we need to “get back to normal” before letting a woman be president. That it sends a message of weakness to Putin. (I’m a bartender in a rural northeast former GE factory town)

Yeah, right. Let’s see if all those “revolutionaries” will vote in mid term elections.

The Democratic party has, for the most part, been supportive of the minimum wage since it was first legislated. Its platform, adopted in August last year, is in line with the current movement, which, in my opinion, is not reaching high enough (should be 2 x poverty line for an individual, ~$20/hour, not $15, but that’s another discussion). The GOP, of course, wants in its black little heart to do away with it, because freedim.

Oh yeah, sure she’s inspirational. That’s why she lost to Obama and is now struggling against a candidate who’s so far out of their mindset the whole Democratic party took him as a joke.

Listen, Clinton’s competent and experienced and on a number of issues her heart’s in exactly the right place. But exciting she never has been.

Her great supporter Jonathan Capehart discussed her Daily News interview as proof that boring can be good. I guess that was the best he could do.

And I guess boring can be good. But not when the times are crying for a candidate who can express the pain and rage that the country feels.

Pathetic. If the party management hadn’t discouraged serious competition at every turn along the way, Warren might have been running and the Democrats would be on their way to a landslide of epic proportions.

They need to be led. I want to see all those establishment Democrats leave their saloons and grills and lead the masses.

So ridiculous indeed. You might find the attached article pretty interesting

Your attempts at trying sound like you are “above the fray” falls flat. You identify yourself as young - so I am assuming you are on your first go around in this political business. Bernie Sanders cannot and will not “unite” the Democratic Party because, above all, he is NOT a Democrat. You might want to chew on that for awhile. Democrats. - particularily those of us who have battle scars from past years - don’t like or TRUST Bernie Sanders. We will not let him or his “followers” (shades of…fill in the blank) hijack our Party. End of story. I have had it with His lies beginning with endorsements that never were his but HRCs’ and stealing campaign information (yes it was stolen). Bernie cannot be trusted and he lies. Tad Devine lies for him, Weaver lies for him and now his wife lies for him. And not let’s forget he is still pursuing a lawsuit against the DNC. Nice guy.

Swinging for the fences results in striking out more often than home runs.

I’m not going to shit on a base run, because a grand slam would make a better headline

I would say that the majority in this country, while not deliriously happy (impossible), are not feeling the rage and pain claim you all keep making.

It’s just not that bad.

I think this is probably one of the many, many reasons why minority voters are rejecting Sanders. I don’t need to be inspired. I don’t need to feel a chill down my spine or up my leg. I don’t need or want to feel apart of a revolution. I have no interest in bullshit, flowery rhetoric that says a lot and delivers nothing. That actually pisses me off and turns me off. What I need, and I believe many minorities need and want, is reality. We don’t get to live on Fantasy Island where high minded rhetoric and the goodwill of men saves the day. We want (probably most of us) is action, not some guy lying to us and our kids. That’s not going to make me feel better, that’s not going to improve my life. I need a president who’ll do the damn thing, who’ll get shit done. Many of the Sanders supporters seem to just want a president who’ll make them feel better by telling them what they want to hear. Screw that. No thank you.

The only thing that makes Bernie “exciting” is his revolution talk for those of you who think a revolution is even possible and all the free stuff he’s promising. It sounds great but if any of you supporting Bernie think he will get any of this accomplished, you are drinking the Kool Aid. He said last night he was going to create jobs by fixing our infrastructure. Do you realize Obama has been trying to accomplish that for 7-l/.2 years. Bernie will have basically the same House as Obama has but hopefully a majority in the Senate. Even, then, we have a republican party who dug in to deny Obama a modest agenda. What makes you think they will allow Bernie’s agenda to move forward?

Yes, it’s a fucking big deal.

And achievable things are not necessarily small—except to those who are small-minded.

I could like this post all day long.

Perfectly states my preferences in this primary.

She is not boring and even if she is - her supporters don’t care. We love her and out support is unwavering. She lost in 2008 - very narrowly I might add. By the way I don’t find Bernie exciting.

He’s losing because of the Southern firewall. That’s pretty well established.

He will continue to lose because of closed primaries that don’t allow Independents to vote. In the states where Independents have been able to have a say, he’s been more than competitive.

Well said Plucky. And one thing we know is minorities and especially african americans, turn out to vote unlike some of Bernie’s supporters who never bothered to even register to vote for him in some states until the last day and then didn’t like the long lines. These are folks who’s rights have never been in question yet they didn’t even take their votes seriouisly.

And THIS is part of the condescension.

The Berniacs will tell you when it’s time to revolt. Regardless of whether you actually feel a genuine need to do so, they’re there to harangue you long enough to get you to “see the light.” After all, if they believe a political revolution is necessary, then it must be so. Everyone they know believes it…

Well said and thank you thank a hundred times over. You have expressed my beliefs and feelings so well. Much appreciated

Sheep need to be led, people who truly want some change will find a way to work for what they believe in. A time will come, probably quite soon, when your “old testament prophet” will leave his supporters in the dust and go home to Vermont, take up his Senate seat and poke his head up now and again to complain about something. What happens to the revolution then? You don’t co-op a political party by calling them corporate whores or worse. I am surprised Sanders supporters have not learned that simple fact in all this time. Do you like being called names? Does it sway your opinion when someone calls you a name and insults your integrity? Think about it.
