Did she tell him that to his face? Sadly, no.
I can understand that she did not want to bite the hand on which her people depend (especially not that hand), and I’m not in Puerto Rico, but from my perch on the mainland, I would like to have seen her give him what for, just to watch his reaction.
Insulting ?
Pretty much who he is.
Repeat after me:
No Capacity for Empathy
Ever
She wasn’t invited to the briefing and the PR Gov. was essentially contravening her, giving Trump an opportunity to play both sides against the middle. What’s up with the Gov?
I’m just surprised the orange SOB didn’t grope her instead of shake her hand.
Posted this in another thread. Idiot, much?
I do think she came across as a little over the top. Nothing like Trump but just a little over the top. That said she was clearly doing her best to get the government’s attention in the only way possible–using the media.
No thanks. Unless of course DOTUS could be tempted into a full-blown psychotic break from confrontation with a woman who stood up to him.
He’d follow her around looming behind her, stalking, like he did with HRC, who, by the way, was pretty calm and collected.
He’s a Republican. Or the Republican simulacrum they have in P.R.
Hey, it’d be worth a try!
Mayor Cruz is factually correct. Whether or not that helps or hurts her constituents due to Trump’s vindictive streak remains to be seen. Could it be a good cop/bad cop routine?
I don’t know the internal dynamics in PR, but she may be well-positioned to challenge the current Governor, politically speaking. Can’t imagine Trump is popular with regular folk there.
As someone wrote in another thread, Trump really is a remarkable combination of bigotry and bizarreness.
Sorry Ron
I don’t think so
You would be “over the top” too if you had spent the last few days wading through waste high water in a hurricane ravaged country dealing with people who didn’t even have water let alone food or medicine.
I think the governor recognizes that criticizing Trump is a good way to get aid efforts stalled, reduced, slowed, etc. This man-baby isn’t going to lift a finger to help people who criticize him. It’s disgusting, but it’s the reality PR is living under. Kenneth Mapp in the USVI is no fan of Trump, but he knows not to do anything that might upset the psychopath in chief.
winner!
No, but she gave Trump an opening. She could have presented her very powerful case in a more powerful manner.
Never had it (empathy), never will.
