Discussion for article #233864
What the hell are all these Red states going to do when SCOTUS kills the ACA?
It’s going to ruin them financially now that they’ve all used it to rescue their budgets.
“The chances of Brownback, who is facing an enormous budget deficit, signing into law a bill expanding Medicaid in the state is still far from a sure thing…”
Dude. C’mon. A few moments spent on basic grammar and syntax would not have diminished the impact of this urgent story.
It’s obvious: they’re going to blame Obama.
Natch.
I’m almost at the point where I feel like saying screw you to these red states about the ACA and Medicaid expansion. They fought the ACA tooth and nail, but they want the benefits to bail out their own imploding budgets. And although poor people in those states will be hurt if the Court invalidates the ACA in this latest case, they are the ones who either voted for these troglodyte Republicans to lead them, or couldn’t be bothered to get out on election day and vote against them. The blue states have been subsidizing the red states for years, let them get a taste of their own medicine now. (Although it won’t be covered under Obamacare).
Perhaps now that Kansas has to provide additional services for poor people on the federal dime just to provide sufficient out of state revenues to the state to keep it functioning for the wealthy, additional tax cuts to rich people are in order to balance this generosity to the unfortunate.
All that irony in a place like Kansas…I’m not sure they even deserve to have it expanded. They voted…they should have to live with who they elected and their policies. I’m not sure you could survive to this point being poor in Kansas anyway.
What?! The great and wonderful free market god has forsaken one of its most convinced assholes, er, worshippers? Where the hell is that hot air balloon now that its needed in Kansas?
Ah, I love to watch Republican Teabaggers eat shit in the morning! Feels like…SCHADENFREUDE!
Democrats bailing out Republicans–it’s the new normal.
And still another example of Republicans kicking, screaming, criticizing, disparaging, demonizing, refusing, obstructing … and then doing what should have been done in the first place. These guys should only get paid for the very few hours a month they actually do something constructive (then they’d be eligible for the expanded Medicaid benefits, too).
Brownback is the economic equivalent of an anti-vaxxer: a rigid ideologue whose opinions are based on idiotic notions that have been thoroughly discredited by science and empirical reality.
And I am getting pretty pissed off about Democrats bailing out the stupid Pubbies all the time. Let the stupid Pubbies wallow in their messes.
Another red state to be rescued by Obama Care. Kansas got exactly what they voted for, a dumb ass governor, elected by more dumb ass republicans.
Aw, looks like this clown has an Opus-DEIlemma!
But they should only be paid minimum wage, and only for the time engaged in actual constructive activities. That would be pretty near 0 hours per week.
Why the Governor, a professed devout Christian, would object to caring for the “least among him” is a bit tough to rectify but taking Uncle Sam’s money…now that’s gotta really hurt. So, federal dollars…from you and me…lots of Blue State money…will be used to bail out Kansas? Aint redistribution grand?
Medicaid? I thought the solution to everything was tax cuts?
It looks like Medicaid is needed because of tax cuts.
“basic” and “urgent” are superfluous and unnecessary in your statement. The author makes no syntactical errors. See…I can be chickenshit too!
