“I’m suggesting the same thing the Founding Fathers did in the 1770s…”
…Which kinda was armed insurrection against the government at the time…
How are we not arresting these people for Treason?
Yes, citizens of Springfield, unite!
Jackass.
This is not surprising. I would expect that someone dumb enough to make such a comment would also be too dumb to retract such a comment.
Isn’t this @$$hole up for reelection? Must be running uncontested, otherwise I can’t imagine anyone voting for a Sheriff calling for anarchy.
Does anyone know what the Sheriff does in Milwaukee County? In my county, all the Sheriff does is to run the county Jail, there is a county police that patrols unincorporated areas, but it reports to the county commissioners not to the Sheriff.
This is legitimately scary shit right here. A complete lack of understanding of history, coupled with unbridled hate, fear and rage…this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
Just another crazy fool with a Twitter account.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke sleeps with the neighbor kids. Figuratively speaking.
“I’m suggesting the same thing the Founding Fathers did in the 1770s,
when they drew up the Declaration of Independence,” the Milwaukee County
sheriff and Donald Trump supporter said on “Fox and Friends." “Go back
and read your Declaration of Independence. It’s right there. Were they
inciting violence?"
Umm, yes. That’s why they made George Washington a general, paid for troops and armaments, borrowed money from European countries to pay for weapons, etc., etc., etc.
Did you think it was a peaceful revolution?
It sounds as if he believes he is staying just this side of the law against incitement and the other law against threatening candidates and top government officials. He may find he is mistaken. And in any case he seems to have overstepped the bounds of any rules against bringing his office into disrepute.
In another tweet, Clark complained about the length of time it took for his background check for purchasing an assault rifle. Apparently, it took longer than the recent checks for his 2 other purchases. I wish someone from the press would ask him why he needs to buy so many assault rifles.
Though the Sons of Liberty did engage in violence against the crown, that organization was just one part of the revolutionary effort.
You’d think a black guy in Milwaukee (which is no Mississppi, but is a seriously fucked up city race relations-wise) would not be on the side of Trump.
Sigh.
“I’m suggesting the same thing the Founding Fathers did in the 1770s, when they drew up the Declaration of Independence… Were they inciting violence? No, what they wanted was self-rule…"
And eight years of Revolutionary War (and 30,000 battle deaths) later, they got self rule! No violence necessary!
Has anyone considered a recall of this wahoo? I’d be willing to set up a GoFundMe page in support of it.
This is Michele Bachmann-grade stupid here.
“Go back and read your Declaration of Independence. It’s right there. Were they inciting violence? No, what they wanted was self-rule, they wanted a government controlled by the people and not the bureaucrats in Washington.”
There was no “Washington” in the 1770s. His understanding of the causes behind the American Revolution is as flimsy as Bachmann’s or Palin’s.
Is there some reason this was published without reaching out to the Mayor and/or city council? It would be nice to know what they think about their sheriff inciting violence.
I hope this finally is wakeup call to the African-American folks of Milwaukee and the Democrats of Wisconsin to BOOT HIM OUT.
This is what smoking too much crack does to a man.

Can somebody get that ‘phone’?
I’m trying to read the sell by date on this Little Debbie box. (partial sarcasm)
