We all know they aren’t going to want to actually see Obamacare go away with their fingers on it, so 2 years or three years they will kick the can down the road for a year or maybe 6 months at a time. In the meantime they will have to pay insurance companies billions to keep them in the mix. This repeal crap is simply a way to move more money to the insurance industry.
If Democrats had a pair they would start working today to win in 2018 and then pass single payer as a low cost alternative to TrumpCare.

Right now the 48 Democratic senators represent 55.33% of the people in this country. We’d have to have nearly a 100% Democratic senate to get anything done. At the same time it will take 60 votes to confirm someone to SCOTUS so they’d better pay us a little respect between now and then.
There’s no way Republicans are putting a concrete proposal on the table that candidates in the midterms must answer for. Constructing an insurance scheme wherein healthy people fail to participate doesn’t work. Committing to cover pre-existing conditions, offspring at home until age 26 and guaranteeing no one will be worse off for the changes regardless their status is an impossibility. Whatever idiotic plan is hatched will come after November 2018. The GOP has the table set for achieving a super-majority in the Senate in that election. They’ll not eff that up.

Democrats shouldn’t let Republicans get away with their “Repeal and (maybe someday) Replace” ACA gambit. In 2018, they need to hold every single Republican candidate whom votes for repealing or gutting ACA own their vote and the consequences thereof and demand that they tell their voters what the replacement plan is going to be. Republicans should not be able to vote to kill or damage ACA, throwing lots of people off of health insurance and killing them, and then be able to sail right through the 2018 midterms consequence-free on a vague promise to replace ACA with…something, eventually.
They should stop asking this sociopath questions.

Have they been doing this for the last six years? How is that they haven’t come up with a plan after all of this time? And they’ve had Congress for the last two years and they haven’t done anything. What are they DOING in these “consultations”? Hopefully, the experts and actuaries are educating them about how the insurance industry works and telling them that maybe what they’re doing isn’t as good as it sounds in a campaign ad?
