Of course he won’t say because he’s never had any plan except for repealing everything and thinking it’ll create an Objectivist utopia. Except now reality is crashing down on him and he’s paralyzed.

This is why I can’t believe they’ll go ahead and repeal. They’ve got nothing to replace it with (and that’s a problem for the insurance industry, along with millions of policyholders) but “nothing” is going to be hard to run on. They’ll delay, they’ll pour out a lot of fudge, and in the end they’ll make some changes that will keep O-care from falling apart - and that will allow them to rename it, and declare victory.
The thing about republicans idea about preexisting conditions is that you can’t let your coverage (whatever that is) lapse for any reason for two months. If you do you can’t use any insurance you buy for 18 months. This is NOT protecting people for preexisting conditions

They have been talking about repealing ever since the ACA passed and was signed into law.
They voted over 60 times to repeal it.
They claimed they would do it ON DAY ONE.
Now Lyin Ryan won’t give a definitive answer on the timeline on when they will carry through on their campaign promises?
I mean, they have no more excuses - they have the House, the Senate and White House.

There is no plan and there never will be a plan. The GOP is going to gut the safety net, Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare, the ACA. The money saved will go to people that ship a healthy portion of it back to campaign committees. Advertising works. Lobbying state legislatures to gut voting rights works. All this takes money and the support of people that are so well off they don’t need safety net programs. Fortunately for the GOP the electorate has shown they will vote for people and policies contrary to their best interests. All you have to do is convince them some gay hippie femi-Nazi somewhere will suffer MORE than they will and they’ll pull the lever for you. Trump wasn’t elected because people believed he’d make their lives better. Interviews with supporters already reveal they know he lies, and don’t care. Supporters say everyone took his proposals too literally. Trump was elected because his loyalists wanted to make a big “Fuck You!” statement to the Left and everyone that has ever belittled them for their inability to read or write or speak the King’s English. They don’t care about policy. They don’t even care about getting fucked over in the deal. They’re the squalling toddler splayed in the cereal aisle, mad as hell Mom won’t buy them Frosted Flakes, and they don’t care how stupid they look or how embarrassed Mom is, goddammit they have a good cry they’re getting out of their system, the world be damned.

Unlikely given that most Rethugs are elected from safely gerrymandered districts. Their constituents–those that bother to vote–have been taught very well to loathe the ACA by the media and, indirectlly, by the poor communication at the introduction of ACA from the White House and Democratic leaders. Also, their constituents who bother to vote are of the belief that ALL of the increase in cost of their employer-sponsored health benefits these past 5 years is due to ACA… IOW Rethugs will pay very little price, if any.

Pau Ryan has been talking his “plan” since before he ran for VP under Romney, moreover the Rebublicans have been repealing AFCA since it passed. they are playing 3 card Monte with peoples lives and health. What is wrong with these people have they no souls??? they have no “PLAN” and never will. they care only for themselves. they make a lot of “noise” about “the American people” Follow their Money thats what they care about!

I’m afraid we are about to find out how truly inept Democrats are. They should be able to crucify Republicans with this. Republicans already had five years to come up with something. Why do they need 2 or 3 more? Sadly, the Dems will not be able to do anything but cower and surrender. Same as it ever was.

I would think it obvious by now that Ryan and friends aren’t thinking of replacing a goddam thing. They have had 7 years to craft a “replacement” piece of legislation and there still is none. And they aren’t contemplating any. killing Obamacare will make Medicaid unworkable rather quickly and it will also do significant damage to Medicare. Ryan does not like any of these three programs. He wants them all to go away. Free market capitalism in his mind will drive down the cost of premiums…he thinks. When the reality is thise who need coverage the most are exactly the people insurers do.not.want.to.cover…period. Just try to find private insurance for a 70 yr old who fought off a minor cancer. The likelihood of an affordable policy that covers what is needed is miniscule.
