Well, it reflects something about the people, who elected Rep. Steve King.
Not anything particularly flattering, I am afraid…

I will say, to Rep. Ryan’s credit, he is the perfect GOP figurehead to be Speaker of the House.

Ryan: “I don’t think that [King’s] statement reflects what is special about this country.
What’s special about America is that we have people who continue to elect racist, bigoted, white supremacist, batshit crazy Republican representatives like Steve King, and who also repeatedly vote against their own interests. I mean, just look at what we’re trying to do with my “healthcare” plan. We don’t discriminate based on race or religion - just based on income - and we take affordable healthcare away from 24 million people. Now that’s special.”

“What’s Special about US”

Like throwing 24 million people off of insurance.

No Speaker would be uninformed when his caucus is making inflammatory comments like that. Of course Paul Ryan knows exactly what King said, and he knows that King doubled down on it.

He’s right about one thing - King’s comments do reflect on a particularly special aspect of America.

Yes indeedy, this puts us in a class of our own. Can’t think of another civilized country in the world that would even contemplate this.

There is a problem with the current congress. From the Guardian.

The Iowa Republican has aligned himself with the European far right before. He met the French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen with fellow a Republican congressman, Dana Rohrabacher, last month in Paris. In September, he posted a photo of himself with Wilders and wrote: “Cultural suicide by demographic transformation must end.”

In any case, US congress people should not be openly involved with the Dutch election. Or, somewhat ironically given that Turkey’s Muslim population, helping Erdogan.

Let alone Steve the flaming bigot, but what is really special about this smirking Mother Hubbard is that he needs to be unseated in 2018, no excuses whatsoever!!

The heartless, smiling manner with which they do it is also rather special!

You’re right. Paul. It doesn’t reflect what’s special about the US. It reflects the increasing ugliness, intolerance, xenophobia, chauvinism, and white supremacism of the GOP.

And you’re one of the leaders of today’s Republican Party.

You built that.

The knives are out for RAyn from President Bannon. RAyn has bigger fish to fry today when he starts to fend off remarks he made about his own party’s standard-bearer. Releasing a recording of RAyn disparaging Drumpf, the timing, is not coincidental. Can’t wait to see how he spins this one.

It took him a whole day to say something about Steve King (R-KKK)…and frankly, it was pretty lame. We all know he happens to agree with King since he has never done anything in his career to prove any different than what King actually espoused. RAyn’s words have little connection to what he actually does and advocates for…He’s as big a liar as any Gooper up on Capitol Hill…Probably bigger than most.

RAyn is about to deliver President Bannon his first real piece of loser legislation if it even happens to get out of the House. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving piece of shit. It’ll be so nice to see it die a slow and agonizing death along with RAyn’s career…The recording at Brietbart from RAyn highlighting RAyn’s disloyalty to his lord and master, is a message that should not be missed.

Except, y’know, they do discriminate based on race and religion, as well as income. And gender. And culture. And education. And. And. And …

Ryan is in his 9th term in the House, King is in his 9th term in the House, and he doesn’t know the make up of this man? Should some one create a power point presentation for him?
