Discussion: Ryan: Steve King's Tweet Doesn't 'Reflect' What's 'Special' About US

He is you and you is him. Idiot!

i quote Barry Goldwater of all people:

ā€œJust get him out of there!!ā€

The United States has no place for such a misanthrope as a congressional leader, his time is completely ended! Unseat him in 2018 please!

I sure hope someone ā€“ at least one Democrat, to be specific - is already running full-tilt against this asshole for next year.

Edit: Both of these assholes ā€“ King AND Ryan

And let me just add Mr. Speaker, Kingā€™s comment is whatā€™s going on now in politics, and not just in our country.
As for our melting pot country you and King have worked tirelessly for 9 terms to try to make us not ā€œspecial.ā€ You and King have worked to make the redistribution of wealth from the bottom to the top which other countries have done more successfully.

Iā€™m not sure which asshole you mean, King or Ryan, but I hope we have strong Democratic contenders running against each of them in 2018.

Edited to Add:

Oh sure, make me look like a jackass after the fact.

(Itā€™s okay, donā€™t worry. I already look like a jackass in general anyway.)

They would bring back slavery if they could.

What a sniveling coward this man is. He does not even have the courage to rebuke or condemn King, heā€™s acting as though he made some wayward comment about the government. No, King expressed bigoted, ignorant and inflammatory language regarding a large portion of the population of this country. Ryan is as spineless and worthless as the idiot from Iowa. Grow a pair, Paul. Stop apologizing for prejudice and stupidity.

A thousand pardons, sahib. :wine_glass:

What makes Paul Ryan special is how he fell out of his crib and landed on The Fountainhead.

Iā€™m not sure the average Russian, who may earn the equivalent of 900 euros a month, gets the rich benefits from having a special American friend like, say, an oligarch or person in Putinā€™s inner circle might. Out of the 176 countries reviewed this year in Transparency Internationalā€™s annual corruption survey, Russia scored 29 points, which meant it shared the rank of 131 with Ukraine and Kazakhstan (also major areas of involvement for the Trump organization).

I think ā€œŃ‚Š°Ņ“Ń‹ Š“Š° ŅšŠ°Š·Š°Ņ›ŃŃ‚Š°Š½ ŅÆŠ»ŠŗŠµŠ½ Š¶Š°ŃŠ°Ńƒā€ is a catchy slogan,
personally.
There are no Trump towers in Kazakhstan, by the way.

and this

By the late 1990s the actual chaos that resulted from Yeltsinā€™s warped policies had laid the foundations for a strong counterrevolution, including the rise of ex-KGB officer Putin and a massive outpouring of oligarchic flight capital that has continued virtually up to the present. For ordinary Russians, as noted, this was disastrous. But for many banks, private bankers, hedge funds, law firms, and accounting firms, for leading oil companies like ExxonMobil and BP, as well as for needy borrowers like the Trump Organization, the opportunity to feed on post-Soviet spoils was a godsend. This was vulture capitalism at its worst.

The nine-lived Trump, in particular, had just suffered a string of six successive bankruptcies. So the massive illicit outflows from Russia and oil-rich FSU members like Kazahkstan and Azerbaijan from the mid-1990s provided precisely the kind of undiscriminating investors that he needed. These outflows arrived at just the right time to fund several of Trumpā€™s post-2000 high-risk real estate and casino venturesā€”most of which failed.

Well if Ryan is serious heā€™ll remove King from all committees. Period. But donā€™t hold your breath. King is from a particularly noxious part of Iowa that holds ā€˜the baseā€™. And we all know how the GOP trembles before ā€˜the baseā€™.

Ryan cannot bring himself to condemn the clear statement of King. That makes Ryan a coward. And, he makes excuses for Kingā€™s behavior, trying to imply that he didnā€™t mean what he said. That makes Ryan a weasel.

He hasnā€™t seen the context? I wasnā€™t aware tweets had context. Kind of thought that was a feature of the medium. Leave it to a smarmy weasel like Ryan to always leave wiggle room for his deplorable allies.

I think his parents were reading Ayn Rand books during his conception. When his father died and left him a trust fund (millions?), he opted to get govt funding for his school before a marrying millionaire lobbyist. But he had did have a Black GF in college.

A Catholic, Ryan is a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Janesville, and was an altar boy.

Letā€™s face it, the United States started declining when we let in so many goddamn Catholics. Filthy Papist hordes.

Ryan probably doesnā€™t know enough history to realize that the first steps of Gleichschaltung are to go after the left, but once they are taken care of, the fascists turn on the conservatives that stupidly supported them.
