Paulie worshiped Ayn Rand and then found out that she died destitute surviving only on social security and Medicare. There was no way that the GOPās base, who exist in the very same way, were ever going to elect him president after insisting they live without medical insurance or food stamps and then die with even fewer crumbs than Rand had at the end.
It always looks so good through the lens of the Conservative Movementās spin machine. Then you have to deal with their radical fringe, the anarchy, the obvious mental illness and the just plain incompetence of the Republican Party regulars. Itās not worth the effort. Hereās my suggestion: Dems offer to support Ryan for Speaker if he promises to eliminate the āPedophile Ruleā (a.k.a. the āHastert Ruleā) and move any legislation with majority support OF THE ENTIRE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES to the floor for a vote.
