This country and government has been more than kind to old dingo face Rupert. In 1985 he was granted citizenship, few questions asked basically amnesty. From gutted rules for media consolidation to the various tax subsidies News Corp has benefited from they are practically their own welfare state. Us New Yorkers have had to put up with his purchase of the New York Post, land grab for a printing plant, gutting local news on Channels 5 & 9 as well as Guiliani giving up a public access channel for FNC. I once read that he paid around 11% in taxes. Less than a typical working class American that he claims to champion. The worst part is how he has coarsened and dumbed down the public discourse. Too bad we canāt ship him back to the Outback. The News Corp/British phone hacking scandal ought to be just cause to do so.
