Reince Priebus

Drop the vowels:

RNC PR BS

A remarkable coincidence.

So they can nominate Jebya…

NO! They DON’T actually! I cannot think of a single Republican policy that when implemented, actually served a majority of the citizens. What can you be thinking of that I missed? Go back 75 years if you like!

Broken watch, Prince Riebus is right now and again.

Ironic you’re describing the above to a former QB.
And yeah, I played the major sports into college-- and another at a world-class level until my early-40s.
Last night in the 50+ softball league I’ve competed in for the last 9 years-- I went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs-- to help the team I manage to a 12-11 playoff win.

And I was taught how to skirt the rules in every sport I ever played-- except the one I played the longest-- which had a credo against knowingly breaking rules.
The highest compliment an opponent ever paid me-- was that I would do anything-- within the rules– to win.

And in this case-- with the current circumstances politically-- (D)s can take… no-- (D)s can WIN the high ground-- without breaking rules.

Cleverness and analogies aside?
We can do this the right way– this go-round-- without having to wallow in the same mire with a self-immolating political party.

Demographically they can’t win, they’ve alienated Blacks, Latinos and Women. They need all three to win, white men are not enough. The only thing they have going for them is Gerrymandered districts, laws meant to limit voting and Republican Secretaries of State who will cheat for them. Some of my Democratic friends think that’s enough. Personally I don’t. I don’t think they can’t win. Either way, winning will only embolden the wingnuts who are causing this unrest in the party. Whatever they do they are screwed.

GOOD!

I will make it my mission to see a dem win the Presidency! Then we can finally say goodbye to the gop/bag party, once and for all.

Good riddance!

Uhm, it makes them impossible to count because THERE WEREN’T ANY! What possible legislative victories by Boehner could you possibly be thinking of? Speaker Boehner has been by any measure a total washout as Speaker. I’ve never heard of anyone who thought otherwise!

It’s also an anagram for Inscribe Rupee … (or Puree)
(*Don’t have any idea what that means.)

You’re cooked whether you win or not, honey.

The real prize is the next POTUS nominating 2-3 jurists to the SCOTUS;
defining how we live for the next 20-30 years or so.
That should be the prime motivation.

While yes, the next census isn’t until 2020-- there will IMO, be an exodus from the ® party after the 2016 elections.
It’s taken 7 years for the ® political establishment to be devoured by the RWNJs-- and I have the notion that there are large swaths of voters who aren’t as extreme as as the lunatics who are running their party into the ground.

It would only take about 5% of ÂŽ voters to flip nationwide for that kind of change to occur prior to 2020-- to offset gerrymandering.

This is doable.

At what point do years of gerrymandering, voter suppression and intimidation and other electoral acts of sabotage and subterfuge by Republicans require at least in the short term less than perfect counter-measures by Democrats to level the playing field? If your opponent in a 100 meter dash is always starting 10 meters ahead of you down the track when does “Just run harder!” become nonsensical advice and strategy?

I am a big fan of the work that Rinse(intentional sic) is doing as RNC chair. Under his stalwart leadership, the GOP is certainly “Cooked as a party!” Keep up the good work.

The head of the Latino Business Chamber of Commerce was on Chris Hayes’show last might - Rafael Palomarez. The Commerce has been meeting with all the candidates and yesterday they met with HRC. Trump had told them he was going to appear but he canceled out much to Mr. Palomarez chagrin. He didn’t say it in so many words, but I he basically was pissed at Trump and said if anyone running for President thinks they can win without the latino vote, they are kidding themselves and the latino community will not forget the things that have been said. Interesting enough he said he liked all the dems but liked O’Malley’s policy on immigration the best.

In the spirit of understanding, I shall play a final farewell to the Republican Party of the world’s saddest song on the world’s smallest violin-of-sympathy. Good bye…good riddance:

You know, I’ve come to a sad conclusion after 71 years. Probably democracy doesn’t really work.

Basically, a large percentage of current voters should not qualify to vote. I’m not talking about race or ethnicity or economic standing, but instead about knowledge. I really think there should be a test of some sort given 6 months before every election to see who is informed enough to make rational voting decisions. Some might qualify for every election, while others who may not have followed events might or might not qualify. Rather than discouraging voting, it might possibly stimulate citizens to become more informed about current political issues.

One obvious problem, this would probably cause most current Republican rank and file to be excluded from voting because of their reliance on the conservative news bubble (primarily Fox), which provides a non-fact based coverage of current events.

Would this be democratic…no, would it probably result in better government…yes. Personally, I’m a much bigger fan of good governance than I am of democracy.

Aheh…just see all the things people are pointing to about the Clintons and the “New Left” - welfare reform, financial deregulation (about which the left only got religion again in 2007-08), “reducing the size of government”. There is a great deal of truth about the Dems shifting to the center even as the GOP gets more and more extreme. That’s how people like Chafee and Arlen Specter wound up in the Democratic party.

There are tools in place to defeat the parlour tricks ÂŽs employ-- called laws.
The problem is that instant gratification isn’t possible for those who refuse to play a ‘long game’-- and that’s the game we’re in-- and have been since the POTUS Coup of 2000.

The country was damn near thrown from a democracy into a fascist-state-- in a short 8-year period.
We’ve already passed the mid-point in restoring much of how our country used to function-- thanks almost in whole to having been blessed with a unique brand of leadership-- by perhaps the only individual alive-- Barack Obama-- capable of leading us back and away from the abyss.

Consider that for a moment.

Then consider how fortunate it is that the GOP and its’ RWNJ-monster-- the Teabaggers-- have so totally screwed themselves and several state governments-- up so badly-- that we are in a fortuitous timeframe-- to win a linchpin presidency-- and possibly retake the Senate next year.

“Never interfere with your enemy when he’s in the process of destroying himself”
~Napoleon Bonaparte

I’m a strategist above all else.
And I can see the end-game here, now-- and over the next 5 years.
(D)s are winning. And will continue to do so-- even while staying within the rules.
