Discussion: Republicans, Vocal Trump Critics Jump To Praise President's Afghanistan Plan

Oh, he’ll fix that today
Big rally, off script 100% guarantee he steps in it

Here it is! The PIVOT!!! Now he’s Presidential! Now he’s a leader! He promised that he’ll send more young men and women over to die in Afghanistan! Leadership! Winning!

The only specifics, such as numbers of troops he’s sending, he’s being fiendishly clever by not revealing. Not revealing, that is, to the American public or the Congress that supposedly oversees him. Because it’s pretty damn naive to think the Afghans who don’t like us will not know how many troops come in, or where they go, or how long their arrangements once they’re there suggest they’re going to stay. But Trump always played to the most naive segments of the crowd and that’s what he’s doing here. He can do that effectively because he’s not just President, he’s the number one customer of his own naiveté.

Did it change things in that regard? I don’t see how Trump could do any more to help ISIS recruit than he was doing before the speech. Unless ISIS recruiters get tired of winning…

Exactly, these idiots still think their positive reinforcement will work, will save them. It won’t. He’s going to torch McCain and Flake tonight and will almost certainly say or do something that moves this speech right off the front page in favor of another controversy.

If there was I must have missed it

These motherfuckers honestly believe this new non-strategy announced by Dickless is going to pull their asses out of the Trump quagmire and make everyone forget about the racism and Nazi-lovin’ and every other failing of that disgusting POSOTUS (you figure it out!).
Goddamn, these jagoffs would fail a kindergarten finger-painting class.

Yup. It’ll be like watching a car drive off a cliff.

Which reminds me, gotta stop on the way home and pick up popcorn and beer…

Well, I see Trump’s defense of white nationalists and racists as being obligatory for him. His trick, if he can manage it, is to gain praise in other areas. I’m curious to see if the speech yesterday boosts him in the polls.
I doubt it.

It has the name “Trump” in front of it, not “Obama”…

Ergo: new and improved!!

Seriously, I’ve seen 'em come and go in my time watching the markets. Bezos is a genius. First he stimulates us(and El Bufon) with the Washiington post, and then…HE CLOSES THE SALE!

This driving me nuts. What did Trump mean by:
"ISIS and al-Qaeda, would instantly fill just as happened before Sept. 11”

Philip Rucker of WaPo seems to think so

Maybe he is being sarcastic.

No. No sarcasm. He comes on Chris Hayes quite frequently. I’ve heard him speak. He’s your common species of DC idiot pundit.

Also, he has a really odd, grating speaking voice.

No, WaPo has a few nutjobs in their stable. Not sure if they do this for comic relief or for “balance”.

I prefer to believe the former.

What plan? All Trump said was that he wasn’t going to say anything about it. And I’m sure even that assertion will prove false as soon as he runs into anyone from Russia.

You’d think they would have learned by now.

LOL, the ‘new’ plan is the same as the ‘old’ plan.

Oh, but you forget, he says we will “win” this time. I can’t wait for the ticker tape parade…what a load of crap. Plus the obligatory trashing of Obama…when will this end?? Is he going to be blaming Obama in another year? Stupid question, I know, and in my heart, I hope he will not be in the Oval Office next year.
